  1. The two guys that run this show have always crafted it as though it were one story. With little variation, they’ve always had an eye on the end game of the show. Most television shows never want to end, but lost has always been about the story, which has to have an ending. With that in mind, the writers were able to craft character and story arc with a definate finish line. This is a one of a kind television program.
Hopefully we’ll get more like it.

  2. solamina, you are making all of the right connections with the characters, and the elements of repetition.

It is hard to pass off these things, as being meaningless. I think they are not only instrumental to understanding the characters, but to the story itself.

PS: This post is certainly worthy of being in the ‘theories’ section.

  3. I enjoy finding these cross season parallels. My favorite one is in part 2 of the pilot, 6 people, (Sayid, Charlie, Sawyer, Boone, Shannon and Kate) go on the hike to higher ground to try and get a signal on the radio. Of course, this is when they discover Rousseau’s signal that has been repeating for 16 years. Before they get back to the beach, Sayid says that they have to lie to everyone else about what they have found out in order to protect them. Sound familiar?

  4. I think I am going to develop a preoccupation with this, just noticed another one, Locke’s treatment after heading off the island – the stick in his mouth while his leg is put back into place, mirrors what happened to Boone (after Locke led him to the Nigerian plane).
