REALLY, HOW IMPORTANT IS DESMOND?
I have been asking myself this for awhile now & havent came up to any Answer about how Desmond first got to the Island.
Now i know he did a race around the world to prove to Widmore that he deserved his Daughter (Penny) I guess?
An that strange very giving lady which her name I think is Christine??
Gave Desmond that boat to use while he was buying coffee in the U.S. that alone is very strange maybe that Lady was always supposed to give it to Dez??(Nobody’s that LUCKY)
That is all irrelevant at the moment but MY REAL QUESTION is this, How the HELL did Desmond just happen to Crash Land on a mysterious Island that everybody else has to reach by Submarine or By Figuring how that Pendelum works??
The “Losties” had to get there by crashing a Plane (Twice) & Des just happens to find the EXACT SAME ISLAND that Charles Widmore is looking for unknowingly.
An he was on the island B4 Anybody else, Well kind of im not sure if you count the Losties in the 70’s but he was there on the first crash of 815.
An if it wasnt for Desmond BiNG there then NOBODY would have been on that Island (Desmond leaves the station & doesnt press the #’s in time thus having the Magnet bring down Plane 815)
Des is a big part of all of this, An dont you think its strange that one guy who goes & gets Des from his shipwreck on the island just gets him & sticks him the DI.
No walkthrough, No stupid mechanic job first, just straight into the station (Maybe we will see Ben or even Faraday tell him “that a man will crash on the island & his duty was to get him & fill him in)
The only significance to that is whoever told him (Guy originally at station who kills himself, also the same guy in gulf war with Sayid) is that they must know Desmond’s Future & know that he plays a crucial part.
So for all the peep who dont believe time loop i think your wrong.(that guy at the station could of killed Des or turned him into Main D.I. Peep or maybe he would think he was an “Other” but he so quick & reluctant to help him, almost like taking orders)

Weird little coincidence but that man was also in a Military as is Desmond & Sayid.
I dont know how importent he is to the island but i just LOVE dez and pens story one of the cutest love storys on the island 😀
Bing, not to mention that he is supposed to be Faradays Constat, “If something goes wrong…”, which stems from a concience time travelling incident that occured well after everything had already happened….
Ya I forgot about the whole constant thing & that is really confusing anyways but the way you put it, It sounds like Des can just go back somehow from there kind of like a checkpoint in a game??

Why would’nt Widmore just go & take the island again if he knew where it was?
Instead of spending Cash on Funding Faraday’s research to help him get maybe but I could be wrong, An Widmore probably needs Faraday for BIGGER things like TT.
But he would have to get there first, thats where Des comes in & is responsible for EVERYTHING.

seems like when Ben woke him while Wid was in his room sleeping, it seemed from his comments to Ben that he would have it once again.
An why didnt Ben just kill Widmore right the & there? I feel maybe he was there but only as like a spirit or energy something lke that.

He most likely couldnt kill him…due to an ‘island protection’ of some sort…

Ben can’t kill Widmore because you get ‘marked’ if you kill an other. If you remember in Season 3 Juliette shoots Danny to help Sawyer and Kate escape on the out rigger
the man from tallahassee is lockes father, anthony cooper. he was driving in tallahassee when he had the car crash and then was brought to the island.
sawyer kills the guy(tom or mr friendly) that talked to michael off the island, and mike shoots himself, not the other guy. just some clarifications.

The guy who kills Charlie is Mikhail Bakunin. Everyone just calls him “Patchy”. The Man from Tallahasee is Anthony Cooper. Lockes father and the con man who conned Sawyers mom.

Mikhail: Kills Charlie. Survives the sonic fence. Works in the Flame.
Anthony Cooper: Lockes dad. Con man. Killed by Sawer in the brig of the Black Rock.
Tom, AKA Mr. Friendly: Open homosexual. Ben’s minion. Was talking to Mike when Mike tried to kill himself. Shot by Sawyer.
Pryce: Guy Hurley ran over with the van.

I dont go & look online for stuff & info rather just on memory & everyone else’s (Thanks) so you can imagine how tough it is with so many connections & characters.

Yeah, Tom was definitely shot by Sawyer.
Mikhail is a former Soviet soldier who lived on an island in a former DHARMA Station called The Flame. He worked for Ben. Lets see… he was shoved through the sonic fence by Locke. He got the crap kicked out of him by Locke. He was shot in the chest with a spear gun. He finally died (supposedly) when he detonated the grenade outside the Looking Glass Station which killed Charlie.
At some point in his life he was a pretty good puppeteer, but that didn’t work out for him.
I think she was branded, we never see it but she shows ‘the mark’ to Jack and it looks pretty sore so i’d go for being branded.
But later on in S4 she was meant to be a spy sent back to find out what the Losties were upto. so the branding may have been a sherade, pretty gruesome one if you ask me
