Ilana and Bram are not working for Widmore. I have speculated they are working for Ben.
Ben would not let something like this get by him! He is far too shrewd for that. I believe he killed Cesar to get him out of Ilana’s way.
Is there a 3rd. party at work, yes, I think this has been established.
also of note… bram and ilana act cool and casual until ben and locke leave the island. THEN they pull out the guns and take over. do they see ben as a threat? or are they working with him
I think the 3rd party is either The New Dharma Initiative or the De Groots wanting to resume their work. I do like the idea of Sun having something to do with it though that would be a big twist
I think they work for someone else but maybe they were instructed to wait for Ben to go. Maybe whoever it is wants Ben to be judged by the smoke monster because maybe they realize that it isn’t their place to judge him. Kind of like how Charles knows he can’t kill Ben.
As for the DeGroots. If it is the DeGroots then wouldn’t that really kind of be like a new DHARMA Initiative?
I meant De Groots representing Dharma and the New DI being a different organisation all together, who somehow found out about the island, possibly by Sun and her father although i doubt she would want to help her father make money. On the other hand maybe she did tell her father about in order to find Jin then along comes Ben and tells her he can help her return. By this time however the wheels have been set in motion by her father. A bit out there bit stranger things have happened

suns father is currently connected to widmore. his heavy industry probably helped build the DI stations
