Time and Destiny
I have a theory about time:
What happended, HAPPENDED. You can’t change the past, and to think you can change the future, no way! No matter what direction you take .in changing the future, the end result will be the same, no matter wot direction you take. Hence why it’s inevitable it’s going to happen. This is why life is not what you make it but it’s destiny. You don’t make your own destiny, destiny makes you. It’s all about destiny! Example…Desmond saved Charlie Pace’s life 3 times, he may have changed the direction on how Charlie was going to die but the end result….no matter what you change in that present situation, Charlie was to die anyways b/c it was meant to be.
i disagree! i think the variables (people) can be powerful! or maybe there is a combination of the two. Maybe some things are too big to be changed by single actions – maybe it would take lots of single changes to change something big. For example, even if Daniel’s idea worked and 815 didn’t crash — Widmore would still be searching for the island, still send the mercenaries, etc…
but maybe if Jack would have saved Ben as a youngster – maybe that would have made a difference in Ben’s life towards Dharma. Or, if Dharma people got he and his Dad counseling – maybe he wouldn’t have killed them all. It is funny to discuss time travel as if we really know the rules!
