jacob is not good b/c he helped Kate avoid punishment, encoraged James to pursue revenge by giving him a pen and killed sayids wife by distracting sayid. Just b/c he wears white doesn’t make him good.

I have to agree, I didn’t come up with the flashbacks as reasons for thinking so like you did, but I did immediately think that there’s no reason Jacob’s “Rival” would have to be the bad one, or “Bad Twin” and so I think you’re definitely onto something.

Good points although maybe he saved Sayid. Maybe his goal was just to get them there.
