Significance of the white flash

The white flash with the Lost title in the end reminded me of something in season 1. I know the bomb created it and all, but every LOST episode ends with a black screen, this one ended with a white screen. Remember Season 1 when John Locke confronted the smoke monster? We never actually saw it, but John saw it in the first couple episodes. Later on, Eco asked him what he saw. John said it was white! We always see smokey as a black cloud, not a white cloud. Smokey found the “loophole” in season 1. And from that moment on, he led John Locke on his journey. The “island” kept telling John what to do , through signs, Christian shepherd, etc… The plan was to kill Jacob, and it supposedly worked last night. Now, the show ended with a white screen. It seems the rival controls things now on the island. Tell me your thoughts.
