Concerning Adam & Eve, Jacob & MIB, and 2 Timelines
Hopefully you will at least find this interesting. I am not offering evidence – this is just fun speculation to spark conversation, but I guess it’s still a theory. I’m just not convinced it’s my theory. Thanks to all you ALT supporters for the inspiration.

Jacob is from one timeline.
MIB is from the other.
Adam is from one timeline.
Eve is from the other.
Adam is the father of either Jacob or MIB.
Eve is the mother of either Jacob or MIB.
One black stone. One white stone. Two timelines represented.
Jacob and MIB have an allegiance to the timeline that they are from.
They cannot directly kill each other because they are not from the same timeline.
The timelines are both linear and parallel to each other.
The timelines inevitably engage in war over which is dominant.
War isn’t a game. Their situation is serious.
At the end of the series:
One timeline will have won.
One timeline will have LOST.
MIB and Jacob can pass into each others timeline via The Temple. They are aware that one day, one of their timelines is going to have LOST, and so they spend their time trying to manipulate/influence the “variables” (ie. people) of their timeline and the timeline of the other, in order to build their “army”. Jacob believes that he can do this without his variables losing their “free will” or freedom of choice. MIB believes in direct manipulation. He’s a “loophole” seeker.

If you really want to get crazy……
MIB is a child of a main character who only exists because of the ALT and only exists in the ALT.
Jacob is a child (either biological or “adopted”) of a main character in the MAIN timeline.
This of course means Adam is a time travelin’ main character and Eve is a time traveln’ main character. Adam and Eve are not necessarily lovers. They could be friends, cousins, or half-brother/half-sister……..

Ok! Rip it to shreads!

Honestly not keen on the last idea you had and your right to call it crazy lol but your primary theory there has got me thinking and do you know what i really like it.
Im liking the idea that the temple is a place in which Jacob/MIB can pass from one timeline to another, as yet we havent got into the specifics of what the temple is for so this is a as good as any idea i have read.
Again not sure about the father/mother thing but the rest of the theory seems to have a solid base, im going to look a little deeper into this myself, thanks for posting i found this a good read.
Hi ScrollLocke. I like your theory. You should read my earlier theories they say much the same things in more detail.
ScrollLocke, great stuff! I’m not a really huge ALT believer, but I do really like “They cannot directly kill each other because they are not from the same timeline.” Well one thing I’m trying to wrap my head around in your theory is, you are suggesting 2ATLs have been existing for a very long time..since the birth of Jacob and MIB. But I think all the ATL theorists (chime in to agree/disagree) are saying the alternate time lines don’t begin until the Incident/Jughead detonation. So for your theory, the 2 ATLs must have identical events such as Blackrock coming etc.. So if there are 2 ATLs with identical events all the way up to 1970 something, why the need for ATLs? Really like your theory, well written
I think the important thing to take from this is that some people may be from other timelines. Does this mean Ben and Widmore(as we know them) are from different timelines?
BanLinus: Yes. I believe Ben and Widmore are from different timelines. I believe this happened when Richard took little Ben to the temple.
daddyx: I’ve read a lot of your stuff. We’re certainly on the same page. We could write a mega-theory together.
bobt: Keep in mind that I’m really high right now…. I don’t really know what I’m suggesting as far as when the ALT begins. I think maybe the main and alt have always existed and then “the incident” in 1977 created a bridge between the two….or something.
Oh my LOL! well..keep playin the ukelele and thinkin about thinkin…
The whole “rules” thing is interesting when you think about alternate timelines (Jacob and MIB killing each other, Ben and Charles). Perhaps Eloise is in the same situation as Charles, explaining how she knew so much about Desmond’s future.
@Inquistor how do u think alex being killed relates to the rules being broken if the rules are somehow related to alt time lines?
