Got to be him

In Season 6 Episode 3 KAte still has those damn handcuffs on, she pops into a garage and asks a kind gentleman to help her remove them. Is it just me or did he look AND sound extrememly similar to the first time we saw Jacob sat in the rocking chair saying “Help Me”?

The first time we saw Jacob in the chair i thought it was this actor or Kris Kristofferson but now i’ve seen him in the last episode im sure it was him 1st time around. He’s shown around the 8:45 time on the episode.

Wonder if this has any importance? i doubt it i just want people to say im either right or wrong.

PS sorry for putting it in theories its just people read them more than other categories i’ll move it after i have 500 comments 😉

  1. dude, VERY good work. Lol when u mentioned Kris Kristofferson as I thought the same when I saw the mechanic. U r correct this is either Jacob or the person in the cabin (which does not mean yet that he is Jacob).

He may be from the Hanso Foundation or a Dharma Initiative member?

    Well spotted.

  2. why in the heck does EVERYONE have to be someone else?
kudos for trying to find things, but this is getting ridiculous.

It is going to turn out, that I AM AARON…

    come on people

  3. Inview11: I’m not saying it’s someone else I posted this for my own curiosity and nothing else I just wanted to know if it’s the same actor or not. which funnily enough is what i posted: “Wonder if this has any importance? i doubt it i just want people to say im either right or wrong.”

I’m in the same mind set as you with people building theories out of 1 line of script and going off at 100mph to explain the whole show and the meaning of the numbers, smokey, MiB, Jacob, Widmore etc etc

Feel free to answer to the post as it was intended if you would be so kind 🙂

  4. I think that it was confirmed a while ago that the guy in the Rocking Chair was not this actor or any actor. It was the guy who Runs the prop department for the show. Sort of a cameo.

  5. Rob Kyker is the man in the chair…as loopy said, prop master…

But I couldnt help but rewatch THIS scene too.

I dont know why. There just seemed some reason. Maybe they want everyone to believe what you do Dave, and stop looking up Kyker.

I would imagine that at some point they were NOT exactly sure how Jacob was going to be introduced or MIB would be added, only that they would be there.
The cabin being the most mysterious solution (or plan) was a good way to do it.

When we first see pictures of Penny or Nadia, they are different women who were evntually edited out, only to have the Penny and Nadia actresses edited in.
    This could be another scenario.

Im glad this got your attention too Dave. This character got my full attention more than anything else, I just could not place him.

I always thought since season 4 that they were going to use Lapidus for the cabin explanation somehow…first based on look, then on his possible candidacy role…but this makes sense too.

Good eye Dave…I hope this guy means something…nice job posting a pic too.

  6. Thanks loopy as soon as you posted your comment i remembered about the prop master being cast but thought it was hear say and not fact, thanks anyway.

AES: I hope they don’t edit this guy in as that would just frustrate me if they start adding yet more characters to the show when there is so much to be answered, as do a lot of people. Yeah i remember people saying Frank was the man in the chair and theorists were going mad trying to tie him to the cabin, which did bring out some bizarre yet very readable theories haha 🙂

As Chief said in a post on the debates page why did they show him? Kate could have went anywhere to get those cuffs off but we are shown this scene. Like i mentioned earlier i’m not a fan of building a whole theory from 1 scene it was purely for my own curiosity. It’s just at first i thought wow he looks like him then he spoke and thought gotta be him, and where else to get tmy answer than on here 🙂

  7. I did start trying to remember if the guy had appeared before. He seemed to have some sort of zen thing going on with Kate. Good chance, I say, wee see him again

  8. This scene intrigued me as well, like the poster above wrote, it did seem as though the two of them had some connection. I attributed it to him being an off-island Other like Tom to Michael and that butcher lady to Jack (storage of Locke’s body). It seemed as though Kate knew, or desired, to go specifically to THIS mechanic/garage.
