Plain and simple??

Many wonderful people articulate superb theories on this site. I am going to keep this premise very basic but help to reinforce what many people now believe; that the alternate timeline is the shows end. I think this is going to help explain the numbers. I believe the chosen ones, if you will have lifeforce or longevity and Jacob knows this. He has to pick the correct person- hence all the score outs. Jack is this person. What we are going to find out is that each characters personal circumstances would remain the same whether on or off island. For example Charlie was supposed to die and will soon. Kate and ethan were with claire giving birth. I am now in the camp that all the losties will die other than jack. This is why he has slight memory of the events from previously. The rest have no idea. They have died and will die, albiet perhaps in a different way but surrounded by the same people. Whatever happened, happened. Your constants remain the same. The variables are the territory. Jacob needs jack to his saviourto destroy the monster or whatever I don’t know. This is why it only ends once.
Got any ideas people. If we can disprove this I’d be quite happy as I want a shock surprise end. But I can’t see it coming… Suppose that’s the idea though.

  1. Well, I’m sorry, but I have nothing to disprove from your theory. I’ve had the same thoughts and I’m totally with you on this boat.
I think also that the loophole MIB thinks he has “found” is part of Jacob’s plan that he has had all along, hence all of his encounters with all of the chosen ones. Especially him waiting on Locke to be pushed out of the window, if Jacob knew he was going to fall then why didn’t he just intervene? Because Locke going through all that pain and suffering and everyone else was part of a greater plan that Jacob was, and I think still is, orchestrating.

  2. what you have said makes a lot of sense!!
do you think that kate will still end up with aaron in the end as well (even for a little while)?
i also think that Jack is and always has been the main saviour, he was the central character in the beginning (and as matthew fox is the only one that knows the ending) he will be the last character we see.
    good theory 🙂

  3. I agree that the show has always provided leaders but Jack has always stood out amongst them.

Jack has come back to the island with an open mind, he is searching for his purpose. Before he just wanted to leave and now he is not sure why but he knew had to come back.

I do not think everyone is going to die though. How can they kill off Hurley, seriously!

I believe Ben will make it!

  4. Great theory, could very well be on the right track! Ever since the episode with Jack and that Asian chick giving him the tattoo I have wondered what Jack’s leadership role REALLY is. I do not think we have seen it on the island. I do have a feeling that the ending will tie in the complicated theories of WHH or changing the past, but also the more personal level of if a person can fundamentally change, as we are seeing Jack do. He was the man of science, and now, as you say, is searching for his purpose. Love it. Great post.

  5. THANK YOU ALL for vindicating the theory I’ve posted on this site for over a year now! JACK WILL BE THE SAVIOR AND LEADER OF THE ISLAND! Helentink, I totally agree with you on the fact that Matt Fox is the only one who knows the ending, he’s been the main character since the beginning, and his redemptive process has begun in earnest this season. His tattoos, as Mojo has said, are extremely important. In retrospect, the episode, “Stranger in a Strange Land,” while once seen as totally extraneous, is prophetic in that it foreshadowed the importance that leadership has in Jack’s life on the island. Also, I still maintain that his grandfather, Ray, will have some role in season 6.
