He’s not that old. He seems to know a lot and be in control, but Locke/Ben weren’t temple leaders. Was he there w/Ben, or was there another then?

Richard doesn’t seem that old either.. My guess is that Dogan stays at the Temple with Lennon as “other Others” come and go when they need to. As to his age and origin, I have no idea just yet so I won’t even make a feeble stab at it.
I was very curious about this too. I dont think he is ageless like Richard Alpert was/is, so ive been looking for clues to tell us when Dogen got there. No luck though!
i Don’t have a clue and its difficult to guess as there hasn’t even been any hints yet.
I will speculate however that he was part of a group of people who were ‘brought’ to the island much like the 815ers were, and i reckon he was a doctor, and was appointed as a leader, much like Jack was with the losties.
Do you think there are ‘temple’ leaders and regular leaders – or that regular leaders ARE temple leaders, so more people had to be brought aft. 2004 when Ben/Locke left?
How about Lennon. Think he was island born by some 70s hippie family?
