I feel let down
I dedicate this post to Chief, I am in one of your moods….
I feel let down by the writers after watching Ab Aeterno. I feel like they placated the fans by simply regurgitated the most popular fan theory about Richard’s orgins. At least they didnt do the ancient egyptian pharoh thing.
I also feel like that is the reason they decided to go with flash sideways, to split the difference between those that wanted an ALT and those who didnt. I mean come on these are the genuises who thought Nikki and Paulo would be awesome only to write them out seven episodes later, what a waste (and total bs that Sawyer kept saying, ‘Who are you?’).
I mean they waste space with charcters like Charlotte, but kill off Mr, Ecko (they could have come to an arrangement) and dropped the Walt story ( I mean the island does travel through time and space and even Locke said he saw Walt, only taller, it could have worked ) and now we have allowed them to make John Locke (the only hope I had left) into the smoke monster/MIB (they didnt even tell the actor until he was filming his scene after they dumped him out of the box and into the sand).
I thought that Sayid would be long dead after he rigged the bomb (there was nothing else electronic to fix and no one else to torture). Hurley (although he is loved by many, his episodes are notorious for simply being filler or maybe comic relief). I think they had planned to kill him off which is why they introduced us to Miles, whose abilities have DECREASED since we first met him (think about it). They also (although I can not prove it for sure, stole the whole Juliet/Sawyer thing from some fan fiction that got a little buzz over on Dark UFO).
I dont feel this season has been on par with stimulating intellectual debates either. I just needed to hrt this off my chest.

I think the Black Rock theory about Richard was the most popular theory because it was obviously how it was going to turn out. They gave us every clue a ways back. He does age, he has been around a long time, and who else did we know came to the island before the 1950’s era? He was making the ship in the bottle, I mean it was all right there. That was why everyone was banging down that door, the writers didnt cop out at all it was what they always had planned.
While I hate the FSW in this season because im afraid they wont serve an actual purpose, I think the way they did Ab Aeterno was great, and was easily the best episode this season. (the lack of FSW probably helped it in my eyes)
Have faith cocoadoll. I too was hoping things would be pulling together a bit more by now, but these guys are amazing writers and I really feel that it will come together and we’ll all go ‘WOW all the stuff we thought didn’t make any sense fits perfectly.’
Unfortunately for you lost isn’t about what you want…it is what it is,maybe you should just enjoy it 🙂 no matter how much it lets you down you can never forget all the fun it has been for the last 6 years!!! and lol like Sawyer would say…cowboy up…crying on a lost theory site 😉 peace
cocoadoll, here’s my take on Season 6. For the previous 5 Seasons, i used to count down the days between each episode with huge excitement and anticipation; time used to travel slowly.
with this season, however, i do not count down the days. the day that i watch lost just sort of turns up. i dont really look forward to the new episode due to the boring uneventful action that has happened so far.
i think not looking forward to the next episode basically shows what i think of S6 so far……..
I personally thought that the only reason they introduced the black rock initially was a cop out way to introduce the dynamite.
I appreciate the shout out cocoadoll. I’m not sure I like being the first person that comes to mind during a bad mood, but I’ll deal with it. 🙂
I’m with ya. On many accounts, this season’s just not doing it for me. It’s simply obnoxious that they continue to throw in these damn flashways almost every episode and expect us to care. They’re not even relatively interesting.
In my eyes, the easily two worst episodes overall have taken place in this season.

Well, what would you expect? They can’t please every single fan. And in the end, they decide what’s best for the story.
In my opinion this season has indeed not (yet) been on par with other seasons, but I have faith that we’ll see a fitting ending. Personally, they probably can’t do anything wrong for me, because it’s simply the end of the show which means I’m gonna like it anyway. Question is, how much am I gonna like it. But I will like it.
