Precursor to Dharma , and is MIB good?

Couple of thoughts, perhaps the Black Rock visited the island twice, once during the day as seen in the incident, where Magnus Hanso lands, sees something strange and decides to come back with equipment and slaves and the second time when he crashes as seen in the most recent episode. Then the ships log finds it’s way to Tovard and I assume Alvar Hanso thus leading to the Dharma Initive. Also real quick did anyone else think that MIB was more dissapointed with Richard than angry? He admits that Jacob can be very persuasive and the look on his face, it looks as though this isint the first time Jacob convinced someone that he was the bad guy. Well Thats all for now this was my first theory and I hope you enjoyed it.

  1. Yeah, I’m not too sure if Smokey is necessarily good or bad…..but definitely a victim of what Jacob did to him. I think Jacob’s possibly the definition of evil. He seems to be the master at manipulating and deceiving.

  2. Not sure about the BR – but with you on the Hanso connection. WRT your other point …

    MIB doesn’t *think* he’s evil.

And, he may really “just want to go home” – that he IS the security system, keeping the demon rum from the rest of the world. He may feel there’s no reason for him to stay and protect the world from people, who are corrupt-destroyers with or without him stopping evil leaking out all over the place.

He could be the ultimate protector against global warming, but doesn’t see the point ‘cuz he believes it’s natural and his infuence is miniscule – no BFD. He’d rather be bowling.

Or – he could be evil incarnate.

  3. It’s certainly an intriguing twist that the security system is not only a security system but also happens to be evil incarnate.
