What i HAVE liked about Season 6!!!!
Being as I have been one of the biggest critics of the current season, I thought I’d go through the bits that I have liked. There haven’t been many but there have been a few stand out moments that have made me smile or think ‘holy $hit’!!
Right at the very beginning of the season in LA X, seeing the Island underwater was a very much WTF moment and I don’t expect that to be explained right until the very end of the show. I also loved Ben’s expression after Flocke goes all Smokey in the statue — I reckon if that had happened in really life Ben would have been in desperate need of a change of underwear!!
To be honest, I really did enjoyed LA X so I have just picked a couple points but there were loads more (Juliet saying “it worked”, Sayid coming back to life etc etc).
What Kate Does was quite possibly the worst episode of the entire series whereby the only interesting thing that happened was Claire showed up which we all were expecting at some point anyway.
In The Substitute I did like Sawyer reciting Of Mice and Men to Flocke, that bit was brilliant and made me smile. I have thought Sawyer’s character has been top quality this season; I’ve really enjoyed watching him. The WTF moment in this episode was the blonde haired boy who showed up twice; very weird and very Lost.
The Lighthouse was a particular uneventful episode, very slow and hardly anything really happened. The only significant thing was the mirrors in the lighthouse and this is only because mirrors have been a prominent feature in the Alt universe so I’m guessing these mirrors in the lighthouse may have a very important meaning in the end.
Sundown was another slow episode where everything only kicked off with about 2 minutes to go. The bit I did enjoy though was when Dogen was pouring his heart out to Sayid who then swiftly drowns him and then despatches Lennon with equal malice — very very dark if you ask me!!
I liked Ben’s alter ego in Dr. Linus. I liked it when Locke tells Ben he should try for the principal’s job as it was good to see the old Locke back again being very thoughtful. Also, when Ben sacrifices the top job in exchange for a successful future for Alex, this bit was really quite moving. I also liked the bit when Ben comes running out the jungle, Ilana says “where’s Sayid” and Ben superbly replies “that considering he just killed Dogen and Lennon, I don’t think he’ll be joining us” — absolutely priceless!!
Recon is the other episode which challenges ‘What Kate Does’ for being the worst one of the series; nothing good springs to mind at all.
Ab Aeterno was in just a good episode. It didn’t actually develop the story too much but it was good to have an episode about Richard.
The Package was another pretty dull watch. Just the stand-off on the beach between Widmore and MIB was of any note. Also when Zoe asked Jin about the map with the Emag pockets on I thought “yes, we’re finally going to see what the deal is with them” but now that Jin is dead, will this bit of the story come to anything?
Happily Ever After, in my opinion, was the best episode of Season 6 and one of the best of the entire series. Everything about it was just top quality and I really truly enjoyed watching it.
Everybody loves Hugo was ok. It developed the Alt universe a bit more, Locke gets run down by Desmond and also Michael shows up which were both a bit WTFish! The whisper explanation was pretty cringe worthy though
The Last Recruit wasn’t the best. I was just thinking ‘get to the plane already’ the whole time. The best bit of this episode was the bit we didn’t see; Desmond somehow convincing Sayid not to kill him and convincing him that MIB is bad. I hope we see what happened there.
Finally, The Candidate. There was quite a bit of action in this one and they FINALLY tried to get off the Island but I’m sure we all knew that that would end in failure. The best bit was Sayid sacrificing himself to protect the others and telling Jack to find Desmond and saying ‘It’s going to be you, Jack’. I think that all the pointless filler rubbish ended with this one line from Sayid and everything should start kicking off now. I actually feel optimistic for the first time.
Just to conclude, I have thought that there have been two goods episodes in Season 6. In the rest there has been the odd good moment here and there but on the whole it has been pretty slow paced, boring and uneventful.

I agree with a lot of this. My only 2 changes would be…..
1) The Package – I give it a thumbs up. It was interesting enough to make the hour go by rather quickly (to me anyway). It was also nice to see a stronger connection between the two timelines.
2) The Last Recruit – I thought it was god awful. What happened in this episode? The losties make it to hydra island and the episode ended exactly how it started. Jack and Flocke were about to have a conversation. Too little happened.
That’s about all I’d say differently about this season so far. It’s fun pretending to be a critic. Good times.
Definitely agree Happily Ever After is best episode so far in Season Six..It was a good one.. Great dialogue and suspense.. Two lines that really stand out to me was when Charlie told Des (paraphrasing):
“if I were you I would stop worrying about me and start looking for Penny”
and then Daniel’s line at the end to Des (paraphrasing):
“I don’t want to set off a nuclear bomb, I’m saying I think I already did”
fantastic!
I really don’t have any critiques except I was a little bummed about the explanation for the Whispers..”lost souls” was a little too cheesy for my taste, where do the souls that aren’t lost go?
Dr. Linus was my favorite episode of the season
Dammit, never mind. I got “Happily Ever After” and “The Package” switched up. I liked “Happily Ever After”, not “The Package”.
“Recon” had some fabulous moments.
Come on, James Ford reveals he is a police detective and uses “LaFleur” as the magic word. Then in comes his partner Miles. I was laughing my ass off.
Then he gets to shag Charlotte (who wouldn’t?)
in 2007 we get to see piles of dead bodies on Hydra island (who did kill them by the way?)
… and Charles Widmore.
There’s a lot more meat there than you give credit for.
Chief, yeah i’ll say that the Last Recruit was quite dire thinking about it again.
Bobt, yes Daniel’s line was brilliant.
Andre, no matter how much i’ve liked sawyer’s character on the island (completely playin MIB for the fool all of the time) i just found Recon boring. The bodies weren’t that interesting if you ask me. Someone killed them…so? And Sawyer and Widmore’s “meeting” was laughable. I didn’t really enjoy the Alt story either. Yes is was good to see the Sawyer and Miles double act but hardly anything happened.
Anyway, thats my personal opinion and i’m not going to rant because this post is about things ive liked. If you liked Recon, thats all that matters really.
