Why not just turn the danged wheel?
So, why can’t Nameless just grab a body (like Lockes) and just turn the danged wheel to get off the island? I mean, he can eat mangos, kill/lift boars, etc. If Ben can do it, dog-gone it if some’body’ couldn’t as well.
And, is that how Jacob got off the island for all those touching scenes? (Ricky, too.)

But I wouldnt be surprised to see Jacob turn it in the time of last episode, sending it to the more present time, and him to Tunisia…

Flocke wouldn’t be able to turn the wheel and get off the Island because of the rules. The Candidates need to be dead before he can leave, otherwise any attempt to do so will just fizzle-out and result in nothing, much like Jack’s stick of dynamite and Michael’s attempts to shoot himself once off the Island.
Besides, I don’t think Smokey wants to actually “leave” the Island, as in, head out into the ocean. I think he wants to “die” and have his soul released from the prison of the Smoke Monster. This is why we see Flocke on the dock (rhymed) at the end of “The Last Recruit” dissapointed that the bomb went off but that he was still there. He couldn’t see through the night and into the dark water below half-a-mile away.. he knew the Candidates weren’t all dead because he hadn’t disappeared.
I’m just so confused… He never even got the chance to install the wheel before being killed. So, are we to assume that Smokey later re-dug out the well and installed the wheel after taking on MIB’s form? Or did someone else do it? I guess the reason why Smokey couldn’t just turn it himself was because Jacob was alive, and already named protector. And, Smokey can’t do it now while in Locke’s form until he kills the remaining candidates, or Jacob’s replacement in particular!
Also wondering, if when turning the wheel does the light source have the same effect on someone as it did when MIB fell down the water fall into the light source? What if when MIB fell down into the light, he really did leave the island? He landed in Tunisia! Jacob actually fulfilled his brother’s wish to leave the island. And, a dead copy of MIB stayed behind on the island, in which Smokey takes form!
We see this light source produced within the well when the wheel is turned, so I think it stands to reason that the light source would have the same effect on someone that turns the wheel… So, could there be a copy of a dead Ben on the island, and another dead Locke?
I know, crazy thought right?
That is a good thought elsewhere…but I think the idea of using the wheel may be to control the light and water, thus letting only a small amount out as it spins.
I have to wonder if the people who were with MIB knew, or let him know if they did, that the island would also move through time…
and if so…was this his way out…moving through time?
I could be down with the idea of Nemesis knowing “the Force” of the Island.

Having said that – he could “Feel” if they’re all dead or not – However!
This is my theory about Nemesis actions after the sub blew up.
As far as he thinks – they all went down with the sub, the only problem is who went down with it – namely more than anyone in this case: Sayid..
Why..? Because Sayid was Nemesis’ right hand man – and he betrayed him.
Now, many have questioned why Sayid just seemingly snapped out of it, but I myself never questioned this.
As Sayid was about to kill Desmond,
Des just reached out to his Heart.
And when he thought about it – what would Nadia say if she knew..and if even if she didn’t Sayid wouldn’t feel worthy of her again(something mirrored in the Alt Universe)
In the end, it was basically his true Love that woke him up(Ironic, yes – one would think he should have thought about that from the start – but then again – Sayid didn’t exactly know what he was getting himself into – and he didn’t exactly seem welcome at the Temple – besides, I think the infection wore him down)
Now the reason why Sayid is important in this case – when he returned from “Killing”

Now, even though Nemesis plan was to kill of the Losties(I’m not sure what his original plan was – to go down with it or whatever, but)I don’t think he was planning on getting knocked in the water and left – he’d been betrayed – by everyone but Claire,(though wasn’t she suppose to be on it?)agreed?
And this includes his right hand man – Sayid.
Now, the sub blows up and there Nemesis and Claire are, with her asking – Are they all dead..? to which he replies – Not all of them..(Now the PUNCHLINE, I know you’ve been waiting!)
Now Nemesis has realized that his earlier doubts about Sayid’s loyalty was true!
Sayid never killed Desmond – and THAT’S where he’s headed, the Well to finish Desmond.
Des isn’t(as far as we know, right)a Candidate.. In fact Desmond is a variable/a wildcard.. I don’t think anyone can “sense” him, as he’s an anomoly who doesn’t have to follow the rules.
I don’t know, what do you think, could it be like this?
