Why Jacob dead & not MIB?
Why could Ben just walk up and stab Jacob dead, but Sayid couldn’t do the same w/MIB?
It can’t be ‘cuz MIB said “hi” 1st, ‘cuz Jacob was a regular chatterbox. In fact, his snarky “what about you” pretty much drove Ben to stab him. (“I hope I’m wrong,” seemed more about self-preservation than caring about Ben.)
(Knowing how all the womyn (cept Zoe) have superhuman butt-kicking powers, maybe it was Ben’s girlish style.)
Everyone just assumes that Flocke and Jacob should have similar powers and abilities. Jacob, I think, was just a man when it came down to it. He was given the task to contain Smokey, and may have had powers from being born on the island. Smokey however, is more than that. I think not being able to harm he comes from the fact that he is not in his actual form. He may have had a mother, and he may have man-like qualities, but he is not as easily disposed of.
