Smokey/Evil Locke like Dr Manhattan

I’m just putting this out there for anyone who is a fan of the watchmen, it’s something I’ve been thinking for a while.

I reckon that Evil Locke did probably used to be a man and how he became evil incarnate and a smoke Monster is probably the result of something that happened on the island. Maybe there was somewhere on the island that was like the tree in the garden of eden and it was never meant to be messed with. But supposing Jacob and Evil Locke where part of some ancient ‘tribe’ that were the very first inhabitants of the island, and supposing Evil Locke did lose somebody he loved like he told Sawyer. Maybe he went to this place, this ‘tree’ and used it cos he thought it could change things, bring whoever he lost back. Or maybe his human temptation got the better of him. either way I think he unlocked something bad and the power took over him, he became host to it.

my point is tho that evil locke was a man but forces above him made him this way and tho its given him unbelievable powers, its robbed him of his humanity. Just like Dr Manhattan.

and now it’s becoming a case that whatever this ‘darkness’ is, it should not be allowed to spread in case it causes doomsday or something. I hope its something really dramatic and cataclismic.

  1. Ive been calling Desmond Dr Manhattan for almost three years…I like this, but I have to go with Des for big blue…

Great movie…I heard they made a book about it too…
    ;]

I would say MIB is more of a Rorshach…a man of many faces…

  2. As long as we are talking about the smoke monster, why do the pylons that emit sound pressure keep it out? why can’t it fly over it?
Is this a clue as to how he became the smoke monster? did it have something to do with sound waves or something?

  3. Another random thought. Why did the Smoke Monster kill Keamy’s men (or wound them)? is the monster with widmore or are they against each other? interesting…
