DHARMA – please share your thoughts
none of us have really been paying attention to how DHARMA fits into the equation of smoky vs jacob situation. i myself have no clue whatsoever so i would live to hear all of your thoughts on the subject. here is what i have thought up:
1. in my post about cindy i had mentioned dharma’s brain whashing room, and monini made an excelent point saying “why did dharma need a brainwashing room in the first place”. which got me to thinking that DHARMA may be the scientific aspect of how Jacob brings people to the island. because really how does he do it? jedi mind tricks perhaps? but i think he needs some sort of scientific thingy magiger to bring the plains/boats to the island. for example the room where the button needed to pressed every 108 minutes, and when the button wasnt pressed it would bring the nearest plane or boat or whatever to the island (maybe???)
2. we cant forget that DHARMA is an acronym what do you guys think it stands for? cuz i have no clue
3. and lastly, going back to religion again (ughhh), in Hunduism: Dharma is the path of righteousness and living one’s life according to the codes of conduct as described by the Hindu scriptures. (thanks about.com)
so yeah, i am really curious about the connection between Dharma, the others, jacob + mib. im also not convinced if the others that killed off dharma and moved into the dharma housing aren’t the same others from the temple, something there just doesnt add up but i dont really know what to think of there. so please share any thoughts you have on the subject i really wanna know what all of you think!!

Actually, I love this and will have to think it over more (and I’ve thought about this one a lot!)
Some were candidates, and Dharma was a device for that. They were started by DeGroots and funded by Hanso (strange bedfellows, ‘eh? Peacenicks funded by munition sales – sounds like they started corrupt.)
How about DeGroots were Jacob influenced while Hanso was MIB influenced.
Dan went to AA in the 70s, probably giving them some time travel insite. How much did they use it? (BTW: Horace should have went to AA, too.)
Horace = Ben = lost innocense. hmmmm …

A couple of other things we should remember
1) In an earlier series (can’t remember which one), Locke has a vision of Horace building Jacobs cabin
2) In the brainwashing video, one of the lines states “god loves you and he loved Jacob”
You and I are really on the same line of thought with a lot of things right now…

I just wrote a new theory which speculates why the DI needed a brainwashing room… I hope you’ll read it =) It’s called “Dharma Initiative’s Purpose/Valenzetti Equation”.
Also, I’m Hindu, and a simple way we translate Dharma is “duty”…(also, as if being Hindu weren’t enough, I took a class on it in uni – so I’m not pulling stuff out of my ass LOL)
