Sawyer and Juliet
I knew all along that this romance would happen. As for the romance between Sawyer and Kate, I think that is over. Yes after 3 years he sees Kate again. Yes he cares for her. But I’m pretty sure that he’s not IN LOVE with her. I’m sure he is telling the truth to Horace when he says that 3 years is enough to get over someone. I say this because Sawyer always knew that one day Locke and the rest would come back. He always knew this. Why else would he wait 3 years on the Island and convince Miles and Juliet to stay with him? If I was still in love with Kate and knew in my heart that she was coming back, I wouldn’t fall for another woman. He falls for Juliet because he knows that she won’t go running to another man. He trusts Juliet. Can’t say the same for Kate (who continually flip-flopped between Jack and Sawyer). What’s next for this new couple? I say a battle with Ben (who’s shown obsessive aggresion when it comes to Juliet) and maybe a pregnancy? We’ll have to wait and see.

I am reasonably sure that during the 3 year period Sawyer was waiting and hoping for John and the other ‘losties’ to return, that Sawyer had his moments of doubt, as to whether that would ever really happen. As all humans do, he moved on.
Count on Kate disrupting his romance with Juliette. Also, count on Juliette finding solace in the arms of Jack, when Kate disrupts their relationship!
Personally, I am hoping Sawyer sticks with Juliette. And, Jack with Kate. But, you can’t help who you fall in love with.
I don’t think there will be any more flip-flopping. Not necessarily because of Kate but because of Sawyer. He’s come a long, long way from the guy in season one who didn’t care one bit about anyone but himself to now (-27 years later, oddly enough), a guy who has friends and cares a lot for them. I’m convinced by the way he reacted with Locke fell down the well, when he started digging and then we he was prepared to jump blindly down to save John.
Kate may or may not try to get back with Sawyer but he won’t go for it if she does. If he does then it’ll be a big step backwards for him.
Sawyer will sabotage his love with Juliet for Kate. Kate will end up being pregnant with Jack’s baby from the hook up before they came back to the Island. That will cause further problems between Jack and Sawyer. Poor dude…
Highbrow, I like your character growth description of Sawyer. I was watching an old episode of Lost where Sawyer tells Jack about his dad and how his dad Christian and how he was proud of his son. That was the first sign that Sawyer was changing.
Well Sawyer is a lot of things, but i feel he is truely in love. Sawyer and Juliet just spend three years together!!! Its ben that will have a problem with it. Ben may end up killing them!!
I as thinking quite the opposite actually. I think that Juliet will make a move on Jack, and him and his cant say no to a pretty girl attitude, is going to screw things up like it always does, and drive Kate right to Sawyer.
The way things are going I guess season six will be aired on Cinemax at 2am…
