Favorite Finale?
With “The End” fast approaching, it begs the question; which season finale was your favorite and why? ( this is my third post in two days, I have too much time on my hands at work )..
For me?
#1) Season 2 = “Live Together, Die Alone”
The absolute tension as Jack, Kate, and Sawyer get bagged over the head as Michael heads off in the boat.. and the music playing as it happens?? Man.. shivers up my spine, what a fanTAStic ending!
#2) Season 1 = “Exodus”
Opening the hatch, of course. I finished seeing this episode after watching (I think) 8 others before it in sequence, was exhausted it was about 4 am; after seeing the final shot down the shaft of the hatch? I went straight through to Season 2 and was up until dawn.
( I really am at work and need to actually do some at some point, so I’ll just rattle off the rest )
#3) Season 5 = “The Incident” ( Juliet’s death was tragic, and I loved Jack turning into the man of faith )
#4) Season 3 = “Through the Looking Glass” ( Hoffs – Drawler should say it all.. wait, you mean.. the future?? )
#5) Season 4 = “There’s No Place Like Home” ( Locke’s dead body cliffhanger is the highlight here, but not so much else did it for me other than seeing the Orchid )
Season 2. Everything that was going on in the hatch was awesome. Locke’s face when he said “i was wrong”. Desmond when he turned the fail safe key and we still don’t really know what happened with that. why did the sky turn purple? I’m sure that this incident is far more important that we have been told so far.
Well turning the key to get the purple flash (the discharge) is what’s responsible for Desmond being as special as he is. This matters critically in the conclusion of the series.
My favourite was either season 1 as how it led into the first episode of season 2 was epic (the camera going down and up the hatch through the mirrors).
Or the season 3 finale because seeing Jack in that state showed so much change and the whole season was just fantastic.
i really liked season one finale . season one was the best season yet. my imagination ran wild after that episode as if it wasnt already
2 – Turning the key and Charlie casually walking into camp followed by the two guys in the listening station… I felt like yelling “Say it ain’t so J.J., say it ain’t so! …those bastards killed Eko, Locke and Desmond all at once! But those guys in that camp calling Penny seemed to confirm it was not purgatory nor all happening in Hurley’s head (as indicated by “Dave”.
1 – Finally opening the Hatch and staring down the tunnel juxtaposed with Tom Friendly kidnapping Walt… Created a sense of anticipation for the next season.
3 – Rescue Freighter offshore and “We’ve gotta go back Kate” … I was left with Kate’s “He’ll be wondering where I went” to mull over all summer and fall…
5 – Juliet hitting the bomb with a rock and the fade to white was a great cliffhanger. From there the series could go anywhere. And opening the episode with Jacob and Adam on the beach left us with a lot to talk about…
4 – Ben turns the wheel and makes the island disappear and John Locke in the coffin.
