Locke and crew… Being shot at by, WHO?
Who was shooting at Locke/Sawyer/Juliet/Miles/Sun/Daniel and Charlotte from the canoe? Is anyone clear on this?
I think it is confusing that they were on a canoe like the ones on the beach after the crash. Is this possible that ‘past Locke’ was paddling in the ocean while ‘Dead Locke’ was standing on the beach, eating Mango?

Look at past theories/questions. There have been several discussions on this
One guess is the trailing boat contains Caesar, Ilana and a few others (Caesar has a gun).
After seeing the ending of LafLeur, it can be said that the shooters are NOT Jack, Kate, Hurley and Jin. I thought this could have been the case as Jin had a rifle.
If you are one to believe the characters in the show, then Juliet saying “No” when asked by Mile’s if the shooters were her people means that the shooters are not Others.
Also, remember Walt’s dream about Locke being wanted dead by people. Maybe Caesar, Ilana and other 316ers think that it is Locke on the boat ahead so they shoot for whatever reason they want him dead.
So yeah, look up other threads on this topic for more details.
It definitely could have been Ceaser and Ilana shooting at him. For some reason I don’t think it was…
In Walt’s dream, Locke was wearing a suit and people were trying to kill him. So I guess it is different because he was wearing old clothes in the boat, and a suit on the beach?
We see Ilana talking to Locke on the beach and one (or more) of the boats are gone. Could it have been the pilot shooting at them? I personally believe it was someone else; maybe the people who brought the boats there in the first place.
I am intrigued by the thought of Locke being on the island at the same ‘time’ as Dead Locke; but I guess this would be no different then him seeing himself at the hatch? I also believe it is important to know who shot at them because it will turn out to be something very important to the plot of the show and the ‘war.’
I will check out the threads. I appreciate the feedback, Capp.
No problem. About the pilot being a shooter:
Lapidus know’s that there are losties on the island, so I don’t know why he would shoot/let people on his boat shoot at an unmarked boat.
I don’t ‘think’ he would shoot at them either. There have been a lot of others on this site who are very suspicious of him. I don’t really agree, but it at least made me think a bit after that scene.
I guess the question I would have it it turned out to be anyone from flight 316 is why the heck did they start shooting? What reason would they have to shoot at them? They wouldn’t have any reason at all! I think the shooters are Others/Hostiles.
I agree with the first part of your post highbrow, in that I don’t know why 316ers would start shooting, but I think that they do have a reason that we don’t know about yet.
The other boat containing Others is an easy way out though:
– We know they have guns
– They have been known to shoot without asking questions
– They had their boat stolen possibly
– They are protecting their island
Of course this is circumstantial, but the Others are usually better at shooting 😛
