Can’t change the past
Am i suppose to think that Sayid shooting young Ben still somehow makes & models the person Ben is today? I’m taking a crazy leap of faith in believe’n that Richard (Others) will bring Ben back to life. Maybe Ben being shot by Sayid is what needed to happen for the acceptance of Ben to join the others.

To answer your question, a lot of people think that Sayid had always shot Ben which led him to become ruthless as an adult.
I’m sure others will have a lot more to say on this subject.
Its more likely the father, the death of his mother, which he is told he caused, the others/Richard, practically dying, then being brought back to life, as I see happening. And a whole mess of other things we have yet to see.
