Jin and the Panda

I just randomly remembered the part in one episode where the two story lines of Jin and Sun were shown back and forth. (i.e. where Jin bought the stuffed Panda and Sun had the baby) At the time I feel this was misleading because it made me think it had something to do with time travel, but now that I look back on it I really have no idea what the point of it was. Was it really just as simple as a flash back and flash forward being shown at the same time?

  1. I think it was a false lead so you thought Jin was at the baby’s birth so you’d be more shocked why he wasn’t and how ticked Sun was.

  2. Yeah, that was how they let us know that Jin didn’t get off the island and they were complete jerks about it… but not as bad as Jack refusing to operate on a kid… what a jerk…

  3. I never understood that either. Whose baby was it? It made you confused because it was around the time that Sun was having her baby. I don’t think they ever told us whose baby that he was getting the Panda for????

  4. When Sun left the island she was pregnant and Jin knew about it. After three years he sees Kate, Jack e.t.c. and they tell him that Sun was with them. He left immediately to look for her and never asked them a question “did she deliver the baby?”, “a baby boy?,girl?” it’s really strange isn’t it? well no one asks any questions in the series but not even for their own child?

  5. The baby was the grandson of the Chinese Consul or something like that. Jin’s father-in-law wanted to send a gift from the company to be a kiss ass.

  6. I knew it was going to be two different stories like 20 seconds in to the scene. I don’t know why, I just had a feeling. Then we find out that Jin is ‘dead’, so for a minute it made us think that he wasn’t at the birth because he was presumed dead.

Just want to say that I knew Jin wasn’t dead after the explosion. No one believed me…I should have bet on it. I could have won a lot of moolah 🙂
