Why does (F)Locke need Richard to show him where Jacob is???
Here is what i cannot figure out. If, Fake Locke is the guy from the beginning of the Episode, which I believe we are all under the assumption of, considering the “you found a loophole/ yes and you have no Idea what I have done to be here”… THEN
Why does he need Richard to show him where Jacob is. Jacob very clearly states he understands MIB’s intentions to kill him and quite invitingly tell him, “Well, I’ll be right here when you do” WHICH
He is. He is at the Statue just like he said he would be.
I cannot figure it out, but one thing it leads me to believe, regardless of all the time traveling, body jumping etc… is that he somehow needs to Trick Richard into showing him, and at the very beginning of season 5 Episode 15… Richard tells Locke/Flocke with an weird look on his face “that there is something different” about Locke. Like he almost knows its not him, then later he tells ben he is beginning to think Locke is trouble and ben agrees saying, “why do you think I tried to Kill him?”
Ignore the last stuff i said and just think about the first part… Why does locke need richard to tell him where jacob is when he already knows?
I might buy into some ghost theory crap, like maybe he just needed Richard to open the door, except for the fact that the tomb is not sealed, you can see the sky when they enter it.
so what gives?

if you were richard, and you knew that no-one else knows where jacob lies/lives, wouldn’t you think it was strange if locke came up to you and said, “right i’m off to jacob’s, dont worry, i know where i’m going.. “. bit suspicious if you ask me, i’d want to know how he knew!
locke needs to get richard to show him, just so its not obvious what hes going to do.
I think he gets Richard to show him so that he can take Ben with him to kill Jacob.
If Locke told Ben he knew where Jacob was, even though Locke has proven that he “knows” things, I think Ben would be a little suspicious and probably not go with him.
But because Locke has made Richard take him there, Ben goes along with it.
Excellent question. Hadn’t considered.
We know Richard didn’t send him to the cabin, so we can assume the guy in the cabin isn’t Jacob – but why did Ben think it was? And, if Ben went to the cabin spilling his slimy whiny guts to it’s inhabitant – who gave him direction? (And why did they have to bring the Locked-box there? If they knew MIB inhabited it and body/faker couldn’t be together why think he was still held by the ashes?)
Jacob was always right there, just like he said.
Maybe it’s one of those choice things. A Jacob minion had to choose to lead him there knowing he was going to kill Jacob it – or it was to stick it to Alpert for something.
Similarly, who told Richard he had to do whatever the new leader said. The ‘I’m going to kill him’ bit would seem to say either it wasn’t Jacob, or (and I’m leading this way – Jacob always has a plan and MIB was set up, he didn’t really find a loop-hole.
emzi, I don’t think Ben needs Alpert onboard to go with Locke. The encounter with the smoke monster and his dead daughter would be plenty of motivation to blindly follow Locke into the depths of hell.
I dont think he wanted Richard to show him the way I think he used Richard to get all of the others to follow him to where Jacob was maybe fake Locke has plans for all them too like telling them he is Jacob
ohhhHHHHhhh. helen, emzi and samson that makes a lot of sense.
thanks
lol, no problem
I dont think you can rule Jacob out of the cabin, we simply dont know when someone else started using it.
Remember when Ben takes Locke there the first time?
When they come back Richard asks Ben if Locke saw anything. So I think Richard was hoping he saw something, given his past and travels to visit locke, although the time traveling had not started for Locke yet.
who knows.
c’mon season 6!!!
