Whatever happened to them?
I keep reading theories and questions recently relating to time loop, alt timelines, the ash ring around Jacob’s cabin.
One of the big questions for me is the relation of the Hanso family to the island and their connection to the Black Rock – if any. Maybe I’ve missed something but i can’t remember any of the back stories of the Island really being mentioned. Does anyone have any idea’s as to what happened to them after Dharma Initiative were wiped out? People theorised that Illana and co were sent by the Hanso’s but it turned out be Jacob, or are the Hanso’s somehow connected to Jacob?
Another question is, is Magnus Hanso still alive? i tend to think that he was possibly the first of the ‘others’ leader
Please help me to figure this part of Lost out 😀

They keep saying jacob is a “great man”…guess what “Magnus” means…(Im sure you already know…
aaaaa it’s all coming back to me now thanks AES 😀 ive gone rusty on my Lost knowledge time to get back into it i think.
But what did happen to them after DI? surely he can’t have just given up. I hope they dont just leave the story as it stands now, after all they seem to be a main theme in the early stages of Lost. They are the longest line of family we have on the island.
I’d love to see the Hanso’s return to become the inhabitants of the Island again. Like a family returning to their home after a disaster
If Jacob is Magnus then he wasn’t on the ship or was on it like off island touching or another timeline?
Plus, Jacob would be kinda’ evil doing slave trading to the point of continuing it beyond abolition.
It would make some sense because DI could find the island.
i didn’t know about the meaning of the name Magnus,
thats pretty intriguing, oh what a tangled web these writers weave…
Magnus is the latin word for “great”
The blast door map says that Magus Hanso is buried on the island near the ship wreckage.
Since he was a 19th century sea captain and shipping merchant, Lostpedia says it is pretty likely that he commanded the black rock.

The journal purchased by Charles Widmore belonged to the first mate (possibly Richard Alpert)
Alvar Hanso – great grandson of Magnus, funds the Dharma Initiave.

I am sure we will meet Magnus this season!
Hmm. Alvar was certainly all about using the DI for human PROGRESS…..
The blast door map says the final resting place of Magnus Hanso is near the Black Rock. I suppose we are to assume he was on it.
