Bodies and smokey and jacob, oh my!

Preface:  The variable is sacrifice.  More importantly its the PEOPLE who sacrifice.

People that die on the island have a way of being reincarnated in some capacity.  Others are healed or murdered.  Only some come back…and only some live…Smokey has even killed some in the earlier seasons.

Each main player, MIB and Jacob can only be some of them, in my opinion.  I think that those that die in sacrifice can only be applied to other Losties as Jacob, The good Guardian.  They are the angels and communicators that drive the island towards peace.  Led by Richard Alpert as an advisor.

Many bodies come back briefly to keep the island towards chaos and violence, such as Flocke, Christian, and im sure others as well.

Those that sacrifice are the variables that keep the game going.  Charlie, Faraday, and maybe Locke as well.

Their resurrections from the incident may be the variables that take us into Season 6…

Hopefully I can expand in a week!

Lost Fan after season 2. Watched a handful that I got so confused with that I quit until S3 came out on dvd>>>Been watching closely since then. I have seen alot of good posts on this forum and have only contributed a couple times...but I have the basics down

  1. murphiavelli, I like this idea as well because it feels like it is consistent with something I know I’ve read about the show being about the characters evolution and redemption struggles. Charlie’s addiction had him firmly inwardly focused initially but his time on the island allowed him to move to a place where his love for Claire/Aaron & the rest of the Losties completely overshadowed even his own survival instinct…he could have, even at the very end, allowed Desmond to take his place. Rather, he clearly believed his self sacrifice was worth it.

I also wonder if Daniel Faraday knew more than what we’ve been shown about coming back to the island…that notebook was awfully full of interesting tidbits? In any case, he obviously was a man of many passions and loved at least two women we know of. I think that Season 6 will bring to a close a good many of the characters story arcs with an emphasis on redemption through outward focus and sacrifice. Loved your thoughts.

  2. Thanks for the vote of confidence> I think that as the series progressed and the writers began drawing closer to the final season deadline they started revealing more clues. I have watched the most recent seasons 4/5 two to three times now…little things start popping out! The other posts I have read on here last year, and just recently, have helped shape my thoughts though. Great site, and good people.

I cannot get over Richard on the beach correcting the “black rock” in a bottle….haha. Foreshadow much?

  3. murphiavelli,

I agree with that last line (in your comment) perfectly. If that doesn’t mean Richard’s from the Black Rock, these writers are putrid evil.

  4. yep,

and jacobs book about “everything that rises must converge” has to do with the immortal qualities of some of the characters…more importantly the end of the episode.

Regret manifested in the mistakes we realize to late…

    wow, I’m getting a little deep…
