What’s in that box?
I was talking with my lost nerd freinds at work. We had a thought.
What if the other 316’ers that are all over that silver box work for Widmore. What if Widmore is in that box? Maybe once Ben called him and told him he was going back. Charles got on that plane as well. Just hidden… ?
He’s all vampin out in the box?
That would be cool.
There are probably either a bomb or weapons for the up coming war that we might see start at the end of season 5 and end at season 6.
I expect to see some DHARMA Initiative logos on the stuff in that box… and maybe a few Apollo Bars…

I seriously doubt it will be Widmore… frozen or otherwise. Well… maybe dead. But he’s been in the box for a while now since the plane crasehd. If he was dead and resurrected then he may have died again in that box.
It’s DHARMA supplies. I’m sure of it.
I am thinking weapons or a weapon.
But wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not Widdy. He hasn’t been resurrected because he was not already an Other (in the way Ben became when he was saved from the bullet and in the way Locke was before he came to the island on 815, which has been proposed in other threads). So, Widdy won’t come back to life unless Illy can get him to the temple.
If it is weapons, I was thinking that it is maybe another bomb. Not my idea, someone brought it up in a Lost LiveChat last night. Anyway, Ellie broke off from the Others and formed DI or allied with them, I think that the bomb was her bargaining chip to get the truce and allow the DI to stay. In which case, when Des turned the failsafe she lost her bargaining chip. Bomb is gone. Someone brought/sent another one. Widdy.
By the time Desmond turned the failsafe the DI had been gone a long while. The bomb wouldn’t work as a bargaining chip… not to get a truce at least. They could use it to take over the island I suppose but… as long as they have it why would the DI need to keep to the truce? They could just break it and if the Others say anything about it they just threaten to set the bomb off…
I like the weapons angle. I mean all of a sudden Llana and her boys had guns. They either found the guns on the Island or got them off the plane.
What would they use them for? To attack the other 316 survivors? Surely not to attack the Others… that’s been tried before and didn’t end well.
I actually think the entire plane is Widmore’s people. I don’t think there was anyone else on that plane except the O6 and Widmore’s Army. Lapidus was under the employ of Widmore before… soo…. yeah I think it’s a very big possibility that the box contains Widmore.
Maybe there are some egiptian objects to somehow “turn on” the statue and to take what is inside of… or whatever the shadow of the statue is…?
They could use the weapons to chase Locke, Sawyer, Miles, Juliet, and Charolette in the boat chase scene…where the hell did the box go if it was this timeperiod, which it appears to be?

Agreed. Ilana is no Martin Keamy. If Sayid hadn’t been drunk and, uh… otherwise compromised he would have been able to take Ilana easily.
She’s DHARMA in my opinion. And DHARMA isn’t Widmore.
As for the weapons theory… they were using old. WWII era rifles. Why would they pack something like that? Why wouldn’t they bring modern weapons? This indicates that they found the weapons on the island. It could be that they knew where to look which they obviously could if they’re connected to DHARMA or the Others. Unless they just happened up on them I think it indicates that they’re not working for Charles Widmore because he’s been away from the island for a long time and would have less knowledge of things like possible places they might find a weapons cache…
I read an interesting theory that smokey repellent was in the box. Basically a miniature version of the sonic fence so that they could gain access to the temple. I like this idea.
