At the end of the last episode of season 5, Locke spoke to Jacob about a loophole hinting to the rest of us that he is the man in black at the beginning of the episode.

The writers point to reincarnation. The episode ‘Cabin Fever’, points out that Locke is somehow being kept from his destiny, a life of science, by something inside him. It makes sense. Whether its true or not we’ll just have to see. If you read my last theory, you’ll know I’m on board.
hi there lovea, locke from the very beggining has been really really interesting to me. your idea about locke once dead switching on a past life memory is very interesting. and who knows could be the case? i now do believe that he has been mib the whole or nearly the whole time he has been on the island? if that is the case there could be some kinda twist to it like what you have put in your post? your right up to now though that the body doesnt seem to tie in? but who knows? cant wait for season 6 man and to find out who or what is mib and locke too? eko rocks
I’m also very interested in the backstory on MIB and Jacob, and how MIB aquired Locke’s image. Also the line that most intrigued me at the end of the finale is when Locke (MIB) said to Jacob, “…you have no idea what I’ve been through to be here.”
