Rules and origins of animosity
Firstly can I start by saying I have never seen an episode of lost more than once. However, I am as fanatical as the next person regarding finding out what happened, as a result I have found myself here many times Reading hugely diverse and throughly entertaining reads. This kinda got me thinkin.
Lost has to offe. Explaination to the average joe public- which led me to this idea. Built solely on a hunch and common sense. Please shoot me down, it’s just an idea.
The mib and Jacob are born on the island or come to the island ( “acroos the sea??”) they are with their mother who at the islands will, or as a result of the evil on the island is infected by the sickness. Mib recognises this and kills her because she is putting Jacob and mib at risk or at least in danger. Jacob is unwilling to believe their mum has been corrupted, possessed… Whatever and kills mib. I believe this will involve an elaborate death… Dunno how but will result in mib becoming the monster. Perhaps a curse for killing his own mother. This is why mib dies not like seeing the small boy in the jungle. It reminds him of killing his mother, which is why this is the only time we see him look scared. Jacob places the 2 dead bodies in a tomb ( Adam and eve??) and after seeing mib in his monster form begins to understand his motives. The 2 have their usual statue, log, beach meeting and discuss whether or not mib was right to kill mum. Can humans be corrupted. They both agree on rules to influence humans without making direct suggestion to see if someone can be saved, redeemed.
This leads to jack as the last recruit and his potential to make decisions for the good. Mib has a job to make decisions for jack difficult offering choice. I believe he will be made choose between saving Kate and destroying the island. The selfish choice would be to save Kate, cause he loves get. But saving the island is selfless and would prove Jacob correct. Jack destroys the islands and everyone flashes sideways.

All the main characters have murdered directly or indirectly. All the main characters (or the vast majority) crashed on the island. All the main characters have daddy issues. It’s a fair assumption that Jacob and the MIB aren’t exceptions.
I’m thinkin mum kills dad and that’s where mib murdering mum kicks in
I’m thinkin’ Jacob’s mommy likes him better. (Yeah, I’m goin’ with the brother thing.)
People talk ‘Daddy Issues’, but look at the Mommy issues.
John: ‘Hey, let me sell you out for a few bucks.
Jack: ‘Dang it Jack, you screw everything up … now you lost your dad’s body!?!’
Kate: ‘I love that creepy guy more than you and btw I’m calling the police’
Hurley: reminds me of ‘the Wall’ … until she has ‘needs’ and acts like Kate’s mom.
Sawyer: If she wasn’t so stoopid his family would still be intact.
Jin: how do you say ‘evil whore’ in Korean?
Sun: OK, don’t have much … but at least she taught her how to not even notice you husband is a murderer.
Sayid: ???
Miles: Made him hate his Dad.

Come to think of it, I bet a he-man-man-hatin’ womyn could write a thesis on mysogeny by the end of the show.
I like the idea. I agree that Jacob/MIB’s parents will be Adam/Eve…
Good points waycurious. and funny. I think it makes sense that daddy gets murdered in order for the murderer to become a leader (like Locke and Cooper, Ben and Roger). Maybe MIB does this because mommy likes Jacob more?
I don’t think Adam and Eve will be the parents. I think the male one is MIBs body. The one Jacob “stole”. (Then again, everything seems like a lie these days, so who knows if Jacob did anything) And I’m still not convinced they’re brothers. Maybe like fake brothers, as in they were once really close and considered each other family. And then obviously some ill shit happened between them.
