I would love to hear some theories on who is shooting at Juliet and Sawyer in the boat. Could it be the 06, The Others, Widmore’s, rousseau, themselves………..what do you think?

i think its the others
because the boats they are very similar to karls boat. Also they have guns with them and seemed to be looking for something (the campsite being turned upside down)
However this is clearly in the future so it could be someone else.
My question is: Did the producers have the boat so far away from Sawyer/Juliet’s boat to (more importantly):
1) Hide the identities of the shooters
or
2) Hide the time zone that they are in?
Assuming it is 1), I think the shooters are themselves, which could explain why not one shot hit them.
Some random facts from this scene:
-It is broad daylight
-Miles says “I think they want their boat back!”
-When we see a close shot at Sawyer and the back of his boat, the water is deserted, but 10 seconds later, the other boat is seen, no more than 100 yards away
-Miles: “[To Juliet] Are these your people?”
Juliet: “No are they yours?”
Sawyer: “Shut up and keep paddling”
-When Juliet shoots, it looks as if she hits the stern of the other boat
-During the close up of the other boat, it looks like there are 4-5 active paddles
So based on this, I think Juliet would have a good understanding of the patterns of the Others, so when she says it’s not her people, immediately, I want to say that she is right and it’s not the Others.
We must also take into account that whoever it is immediately started shooting at them. I think the O6 (or their past seleves) would take a more conservative approach, follow them and then confront them on land.
Then again, Miles saying that “they want their boat back” could be true that whoever the boat belongs to, it could be those people.
were not exactly certain who the boat belongs to but they more than likely came the short distance of the smaller island. I don’t think its the others either but we also need to know when this is. I’m not convinced the island has moved into the future yet.
Perhaps the ppl in the boat were themselves and Juliet did shoot herself and thats why she had a nose bleed at the end of the episode – because she is dead in the future? This could be the reason for everyones nose bleeds,as they have become dead in an already future timeline?
Suicidenosebleed- I have also thought that they were already dead in the future or …..something has been changed in the past and now they might not even exist.
I first thought this with charlotte and her not remembering someones middle name….

I agree that either the island has yet to move to the future, or that it can’t yet.
good topic lostfan, however I’m inclined to believe it’s them selves and it would be crazy if when Juliette shoots in fact shoots her self.
