A subtle connection of Blackrock to the current scenario

Not a big theory or anything, at least I dont think. Not much to go on, just food for thought. We know Blackrock has a major role in Lost, presumably the journal, which may lead the reader to the island. And whoever the hell the capitan was (please, if you guess, cool, if you know, please state where this was said) along with the crew. But what about the island. Is there anything at all, that would be kind of nuts to find out, that may have been right in front of us and we missed.
I am thinking, we saw the ship, and a bit of the inside, but what did we not see that you would think we would. Wouldnt the Losties want to see if there was anything salvagable in the ship other than explosives? I think we were slightly led away for a reason not uncovered yet.
I was thinking, what did Ben have to do to move the island…thats right, turn a wheel. It very much resembled a wheel that would have been on an old ship, so hey, why not the only ship we have seen on the island. Was it big, hell yes it was big. Back in the times of Blackrock wouldnt it have been necessary to have a larger than normal wheel to steer a ship of that size?
Here is a link with a picture of the wheels used back then. http://www.moah.org/exhibits/archives/modelships/elements.html
I am not really sure what, if anything this would mean, but hell, its fun a tidbit, that I have always believed to be true., and may lead to something more important.
Let me know what you think.

Abbot Enheduanna Schwarzschild Name meaning: -Abbot: Father defined by or in religious connotation/definition. From the beginning, Lost was riddled with religious tone and it was obvious it would play some sort of role. Seemed fitting to start here. -Enheduanna: Mesopotamian High Priestess and the modern civilization’s first recorded poet. I created the name after season 1. John explaining backgammon history to Walt spawned the idea that the island may have a link yo the beginning of civilization and maybe even time itself. It was “poetic” and important to add this to my pseudonym. I needed the mother of poetry in modern civilization to match the religious “Father” in my first name. -Schwarzschild: Reference to Karl Schwarzschild and Schwarzschild Black Holes. Smoke monsters, hatches, and curing paralysis doesn’t point to black holes…but the sci-fi elements ran deep and obvious. The wheel moving the island and transporting Ben felt like it got plucked from my imagination. A.E.S.

  1. I know that “black rock” (besides the name we know ofthe ship) resembles a kind of rock (black, duh!?) that supposedly is in all of the undergrounds of the island, and is that which we see in the hatch inide the concrete which atracts metal (Jack’s key). It is a rock with electromagnetic properties,I think it is the same as the Magnetita (the rock for which electromagnetic properties were discovered).
I heard somewhere all of these, don’t know if it’s tue or not.

  2. Hi AES, good point you make. Furthering Mamey’s line of thinking, we know ‘The Black Rock’ was a slave ship.

It was also carrying a large cache of gold.

The ‘wheel’ to me is reminiscent of what I have seen slaves in movies such as The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur, use to move rock!

  3. I’ve got a guess about who the Black Rock’s captain could be!

We know Charles Widmore is a Black Rock fanatic. We also know he likes his whiskey, especially MacCutcheon. In the season three episode “Flashes Before your Eyes,” Widmore tells Desmond Anderson MacCutcheon was an “esteemed Admiral from the Royal Navy. He retired with more medals than any man before or since — moved to the highlands to see out his remaining years.”

What if MacCutcheon was the captain!? We know bottles of MacCutcheon end up on the island, why not the real MacCutcheon?

This isn’t much of a theory granted there is no real evidence, but an interesting thought nonetheless.
