My only reason to think that this is not the case is because Claire already has a connection to the island (in Christian) so her mother does not “need” to be connected to the island for Claire to be special in our eyes – we accept that her being Christian’s daughter makes her special enough.
Although it would be priceless if Kate and Jack see her on the island!
It makes sense… I think it could be that Christian and Carole were doing their thing on the island at one point… Later they leave the island but after a while Christian realizes that they need to go back so he goes to Australia and looks her up in her trailer and yells “We have to go back, Carole!” but she says he’s nuts and doesn’t want to see him again. Sound familiar? Could also be that Ray has a connection to the island and he believes that Christian should be with Carole which is why he doesn’t approve of Christian’s marriage…
I know the timeline is a little funny but I think that could be worked out…
When Jack went to see Carole about Aaron I found their meeting a little strange.
When Jack asks her what she’s doing in LA she gets a weird evil type look on her face and we don’t see her explain to Jack why she’s in LA, we only see Jack tell Kate why she’s in LA.
Maybe she told Jack something relating to the island or what they’re up to?
Yeah, it could have been anything… She could have said “I’m here to pick up a settlement check. I have no idea who Aaron is… but let me tell you a funny story about rolling around with your father on the beach of a mysterious island back in the early ’80s… Ah, those were the days… too bad we had to leave then he went all nuts and kept saying we needed to go back and all and he got all drunk and whatnot and just kept coming to my trailer at all hours of the night… but don’t you need to get back to your girlfriend waiting outside?”

Seriously…wouldn’t it be yet another great moment to see this season?
– Claire’s special…hangs out with Christian in Jacob’s cabin. Maybe she got to see Mum, too?
– Her baby is special or perhaps demon child.
– Carole might just be a master liar as most Dharma/Others tend to be, “getting her 815 settlement…”

kimberly, good call on Carole! This might explain how she and Christian met.
