Time And Time Again…

Ugh i have tried to post this like 15 times!! The Stress!! :@

Hey guys i had a thought about the different manifestations of time travel in the show after some constructive and very well argued points by dabs on some of my comments jolted something up there :O I believe there are two types of time travel in the show:

-Conscious time travel

&

-Full on Whole Being time travel

i realised that all four instances of time travel in the show are subtly different :))

Conscious jumping:

Okay lets start with Elouise.(Rat)

Daniels ‘machine’ That oscilated at 11hz and was set to presumabley 2.342 rads sent Elouise’s consciousness foward in time so that she knew how to run the maze.

But Daniel says that he never taught her to run it before he sent her CONSCIOUSNESS foward in time. Therefore as she died afterwards Elouise was never taught how to run the maze she simply knew this from her experience of the future. A paradox is created for if Elousie was never taught how to run the maze how could the future version of herself know how to run it?? The answer is another timeloop. all Elouise’s in seperate timelines know how to run the maze from a future Elouise that has already run it.

Faraday strikes again with Desmond

After Seeing that elouise died after her time travelling daniel identified the necesity of a constant to anchor oneself to ones correct position in time. (sorry about the snobbish oneself bit 😮 im trying to keep ‘you’ out of it to avoid confusion) Anyway Desmond was constantly jumping between the year 1996 when he was in the Army and 2004 where he was stuck on The Freighter. Daniel correctly guided desmond back to his corresponding timeline after Des identified Penny as his constant.

Round three with Theresa.

The circumstances that led to theresas condition are unknown but we know that it was Dan that did it to her and then ‘took off’ to the USA.

The difference between Desmonds condition and Theresas (thanks again dabs :D) was That Des was only jumping between two specific dates

Whereas Theresa appears to be skipping in time randomly like the losties are on the island.

Whole Being Travel:

Pierre chang and the Bunnies 😀

In the Orchid orientation video we see pierre chang claim that they have achieved time travel as he removes an identical rabbit from the chamber as the one in the metal cage.

he warns that these two must not have physical contact. he doesn’t exactly elaborate but this is because i think he fears that they would create a paradox that would screw up the time machine. The difference to Conscious travelling is that in this case he clearly says that the rabbit would appear to ‘disappear for a few seonds/minutes/hours etc’

which would imply that the WHOLE rabbit body and all travelled through time. This must be true because if it was a conscious jump it would mean that three rabbits would exist at a time: the one that was in the past , the one that jumped from the past to the future and the future version of the one from the past (read it a few times and ull get what i mean). Mathematical equations Simply state that 2=2 If You had two at the beggining you must have Two at the end Therefore This Instance was not Conscious travel but instead Was a Full Being jump through time.
