Can you change the future? Are the Losties puppets in a show?
We have been tossing this theory around back and forth and according to Faraday, “whatever happened, will happen.”
But the photograph of the recruits, did it just appear in that Dharma station in 2007 like the butterfly effect or was it always there and no one noticed that Jack, Kate and Hurley were in the photo, that seems extremly unlikely.
I also know that Ben remembers his childhood pretty well, reminiscing with the dolls that Annie had given him on his birthday. “Hard to celebrate the day you killed you mother” – Harsh words spoken from Roger Linus to his son. No wonder he turned out to be such a rat. I was actually starting to like Ben last season but now that he “tried to kill” Locke, not so much….
You would think he would remember meeting Sayid and maybe even seeing Jack, Kate, Hurley around. But LAFLEUR THE HEAD OF SECURITY! – He is like a celeb in the DI, how could Ben not remember him.
Unless none of this has even happened yet, and the old past was meant to be changed by the Losties in the future. AES could be right, that Jacob is watching, guiding and using the Losties like puppets in a show – To fix the past, maybe even perform the task inwhich he failed to do and that is the help is seeking.
My biggest question tonight was why did Sun not get placed back in the 70’s with the O6, what happened to Rose, Bernard, Vincent, etc… 3 years? roaming the jungle
And how is Sun going to get to Jin?? Is Christian going to make her spin the wheel?(joke-maybe ;))
I would love everyone’s input on these questions and on some of possible theories I have posed, positive and negative.
I believe they are changing the past. But it is still up to speculation whether they can change the future.
Like they can become part of DHARMA which they were not before (notice Juliet had to get Jack, Kate and Hurley on the submarine manifest), but can they stop the incident? The Purge?
My guess is that this show will follow roughly the pattern of a movie call “Deja Vu” with Denzel Washington. He travels back in time to prevent an incident. However, everything leading up to that incident seems to point to nothing changing. At the last minute, he finally changes something and saves the day. This is my prediction for Lost.
