old, but interesting, news
hey there folks long time reader first time poster. i know this is old news but i was rewatching the season 4 finale when I noticed something that may/may not be important. i think miles knew that charlotte was going to die and what was going to happen to him and the people who stayed on the island.
back in the ‘present’ just before everyone left he asked charlotte why she would leave the island she had spent her whole life trying to get to. she was confused and obviously hadn’t told him this information… or had she? miles as we all know ‘talks’ to dead people and charlotte as we all know, is dead. what are the chances that he found her body while wandering the island? i’d say pretty good. which means that he could have had any of the information that she had when she died.
also he may know if anyone else dies on the island in the past because he might have found their bodies as well. they most likely didn’t die in as obvious places (just out in the woods) but all the same i’m going to rewatch miles in the rest of the fourth season and see if he reacts oddly to other characters or ‘knows’ things about them.
Very interesting. I think us viewers are guilty of underestimating Miles. We should keep an eye out for any other suspicious questions he might have…
Miles is an enigma to me. I certainly think that Miles knows that Claire died in the explosion that destroyed “her” house, which is why he is so interested in her in the scenes leading up to her being lead off by Dad/Anubis/Grim Reaper/Christian.
The latest stories have not been showing us much with Miles, and this worries me because he is beginning to appear irrelevant, and therefore a prime candidate for character death – as in, we will get our answers about him only as he dies.
Still, I am holding out hope that Dr. Chang’s child is Miles. I cannot remember if the Chang’s baby is definitively male or female. If we don’t know, then I nominate SUN as Dr. Chang’s baby. She and Ben didn’t flash- perhaps because she and Ben were already present on the island, or would be.
I believe Dr. Chang refers to the child as a he before he goes to change his diaper.
Chang’s child is 100% male.
I’m sure the child is male because we heard him refer to him as “he”… but unless you’ve had a chance to flip him over and check, I’d put us more in the 99% range.

Andre- I agree that bringing Miles to the pit would have been quite useful.
I don’t know that it matters where or when Charlotte’s body is, thought it would be interesting to find out. I do think it is definitely possible that like Yemi and Christian, she’s been animated by the Island.
It could also be a crew member sitting in front of a laptop. but I doubt it.
In any case, I am hoping that Miles get o do something cool and useful. Lately it been like watching an X-men move wherein none of the X-men actually gets to use their powers!
Very good point, and as we know, Miles does for Miles only. He may know a lot of what’s about to happen up to the point he arrives on the island Mercs in tow.
As for Sun being Chang’s kid, this I doubt. Her supposed father did love her, even if he was an adoptive father. He is also an extremely powerful man. If his “daughter” came from the island, he would know about the island and would pay close attention to keeping her from it.
Andre, I think The Pit is perhaps the entire reason he was on the Freighter!
Sun’s dad is REALLY successful. Widmore successful with that a Ben kind of ruthlessness.
