When Locke is on the beach, and we see at the beginning of the episode him take off Jacks fathersshoes, and put them into what resembles the same bag Ray gets them out of to give to Jack….Am I seeing things, or is that right…? Is it the same bag?

I did like the few shots on the shoes. It was funny to me, as Locke was ultimately protecting the shoes….
Protecting something he actually knows nothing about…he doesn’t know where the shoes come from, why they are of value, who wore them…I mean, is he going to find Christian and Christian will say, “ahhh, my shoes! Finally!”
I’m being silly, but come on with the ‘walking in someone else’s shoes’ metaphor that is Brilliant!

Glad I wasnt the only one…I posted this immmediatly after the episode, and didnt check to see if they were the same until after…but he did take them…I dont think he will give them to Christian…But damn, when jack first sees Locke, then the shoes, he will get that stupid Jack, trying not to cry look, look away, and realize Daddy is walking around on the island…
Well, he was protecting his shoes… since they don’t have DSW on the island I think he’d want to keep them from being destroyed so he doens’t end up with leaves tied to his feet with vines…

This post is understated or not getting enough attention in my opinion. I also noticed Locke SLAPPING HIS SHOES TOGETHER so we would all notice. WHY? Because he is ready to roll. And your right when him and Jack meet again, I will be way on the edge of my seat!! real good and underrated.

I post, and like a dummy, I then research, and see that not only am I wrong, but very wrong…lol
but…I do think the shoes being put into the bag meant something specific, and holds a much greater meaning…

If you think about it, isnt Jack the only one other than Ben to see the dead Locke..or um…Bentham?
I know its been talked about, But Bens “Thomas” story in the church to Jack may hold a much larger meaning…
They are the only two to see him, hence the story is inregards to both…You hear and see Bens suprise upon seeing John.
I actually believe what he said about the situation…but, what he told Sun, seemed to be a lie.
