The Statue
Ok, here’s a question. Who or what do you think the statue is? Without going on with “I think it’s Susanna Lee Hoffs because she clearly walks like an egyptian”… Just tell us who you think it is. I’m betting I’ll get a lot of “Anubis” responses, but we’ll see….
Wow, Hoffs… Hoffs… Hoffs/Drawler… Easter Egg?

lol. nice antiquated pop reference, you could write for family guy…
I believe it is Kate. I mean that statue had broad shoulders.
Ok, one vote for Kate.
ekolocation, you get top marks for your answer! lol
lol highbrow, you certainly deserved that! And, it was a great shout-out to the lovely Susanna Hoffs!
I think I have already answered this in a few posts! I think it may be easier to figure out the statue, than it is, to see whose face is on it!
Now that is going to be very interesting!
So, my pick is Thoth (if not then Kate).
The internet is so awesome… I was reading about Egyptian Mythology, I clicked this link then that link… next thing I know I’m reading about DNA and recombination… Also learned some fascinating things about the people of Tunisia… thinking about moving there…
the statue is most definently not anubis, as it dooesnt have large ears like said god.
on closer inspection it could be Tawaret, who had four toes, and had the same bit on the head dress in the middle, Tawaret being a god of protecting women in childbirth. the usual rubbish they all have a protection over.
i work in a bookies, so as an outsider imoffering odds of 500/1 for it being jesus.
good bye

I would kinda agree with you losts-columbo on the taweret theory…but if i remember right i think she had arms of a lion,i would think it could be Isis also, but im mainly leaning towards Anubis sorry….why would you say kate eko??
now that i poked around on the net im gonna have to say 100% the statue would have to be Sekhmet,Anubis has really tall ears but the statue looks more the ears are a bit more rounded, plus Sekhmet
I think it’s an Egyptian god with Richard’s face….
Now way guys
The statue is HIGHBROW!!!
totally god-like 😀
Skil1
You got me… it was a real pain sitting real still while they carved that thing but in the end it was worth it…
highbrow, i have a close tunisian friend, hes a very unique and gifted person, he speaks about 6 languages and is a gifted musical composer and is currently living in japan for a year, just because. he speaks fondly of his homeland.
Yeah, I wasn’t kidding… I’d consider living there… I’ve lived overseas before and it’s quite an experience. I lived in Korea both as a soldier and a civilian. I lived in Iraq for a year or so and I don’t plan on going back! I also spent a day in Germany and a day in Ireland. I’ve been to Japan probably 40 times but never left the airport. I saw Budapest from the ground but wasn’t allowed to get off the plane…
Tunisia looks fascinating and it looks like the people there are really open to foreigners… If I thought I could find work there I might just be planning a move…
do they show lost in tunisia? lol
Hm, that’s a good question. I’m not sure…
We were able to watch Sky1 in Iraq though Satelite TV so I guess they could probably get it…
At 2am they have naked models. I don’t remember what they called it or even if it was on Sky1… But it was cool…
nothing wrong with that. yeah i need to make money so i can travel more. im thinking of living abroad as well, but im terrible at making decisions
Go to Asia and teach English. Anyone can do it. I used to do it as a side job… I worked at an institute two evenings each week for about four hours at a time just having conversations in English with kids ages 6-17 and made 500 bucks each month for my trouble. I knew people who taught English full time for a lot more money…
doesnt sound to bad…
If you have a degree you can find teaching jobs on the internet working for corporations and whatnot… most of the people I knew either worked on thier by finding their own students or they worked for an institute…
Just curious highbrow, when you were in Iraq, did you engage in any active combat?
HA HA HA HA! No! I was an intelligence analyst…
did you run into a fellow named sayid jarrah? kelvin inman?
Some dude in a van paid me not to talk about that.
talk about what? wink wink (wheres my cut?)
The body in the trunk. What?
im out! have fun. dont lose your arm in an argument
Thoth has 5 toes in every picture I can find!
Could ancient Egyptians have used the island as a real-life heaven? Send a dead body there (after taking “good care” of it ) and have it resurrected? Or did they base their myths on the island? You know, dead people going in a boat to “heaven” where they lived again?
oooo, good one, Joshcgs!!!
