Faraday is alive!
I was an avid reader and sometimes poster on lost-theories.com. Since its demise, I’ve been checking out theories on this site’this is my first post.
I can’t say that Faraday is alive in the traditional sense. I mean we are talking about lost. I don’t know if he’s a ghost, a figment of someone’s imagination, or was brought back to life by the island, but I’m pretty sure we will see him again.

It’s been widely accepted, myself included, that the person shooting the video is Daniel Faraday. If this is the case then when did he shot this video? It seems that Chang and Faraday have a some-what close relationship in that video’at least closer than we’ve seen in the show thus far. In last weeks episode Chang for the first time is convinced that Faraday was right’which is after Faraday ‘died’.
So I conclude that we will see Faraday, again.
It is now widely accepted that it wasn’t Faraday who shot the video. Many who theorise or talk about these things say the accents on the voices are different for Faraday and the camera operator. I thought the same thing, but I guess we are both wrong.
I agree that he is not dead, or we will see him again.
He’s dead. The DHARMA Booth Video is not canon. The intention of that video was only to give us an idea, between seasons, of what season five was going to be about.

BoboFatt, apparently the writers had to abandon the story line of the video introduced at ComicCon. They were going to incorporate it in another ARG, which was scrapped due to the sliding economy.
The story line was changed to have Daniel go to Ann Arbour, instead of sticking around ‘the island’, cozying up to Dr. Chang, as had been originally planned.
We have not seen the last of Daniel, as there is more to his story, but it will come via, the past and flashbacks, likely.
