Star Trek *spoiler alert*

Ok, I just watched Star Trek, and first of all, it’s freaking awesome. If you have not seen it… STOP READING and go out and watch it! If you have seen it… did you pick up on the J.J.Abrams LOST references? One of them that really cracked me up was the alien Polar Bear. The second was Spock’s wise-cracking line to his younger self about the end of the world paradox’s…. tell me if I’m wrong, but that really felt like an inside joke for the LOST nerds out there. (Although I admit I’ve never seen Heroes, so it may relate there as well). What’s really interesting about Star Trek is that J.J. is offering us a totally different time travel scenario than LOST. LOST is apparently about a single unchangeable time-line and Star Trek exists in a parallel dimension. This is especially interesting stuff if you are a fan of The Original Series and The Next Generation, both of which heavily featured time traveling as well as alternative realities and people crossing back and forth between realms… oh those good-Kirk bad-Kirk days! But an alternative reality where Spock is the womanizing pimp?
