What came first? The chicken or the egg?

Or, to put it another way john loche telling Alpert to tell himself to die to get back to the island, or john loche being told by Alpert to die to get back to the island?

The answer is irrelivent, but i’m frustrated that little questions keep popping into my head!

Thought i’d share my frustrations with you. Also, like what i did with the title? Prety smart for me I guess!

  1. Once he is faced with a “fait accompli” of coming back from the dead, John is simply reinforcing that idea by suggesting it to himself.

In other words a little birdy (the island) told him so. It does not really come from John himself but from his experience, made possible by the island.

  2. Andre, i need help mate, i can’t stop thinking about this weeks finale! With hindsight i should have had this week of work because Lost is all i’m thinking about, especially now our football season has finished!

    I’M GOING MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Time is relative. To John Locke, he is firsttold by Richard that he needs to die. To Richard, he is told for the first time that John has to die by John himself. This can happen because for John it happened first, and later it happens for Richard. Simply, time is relative to individuals.

  4. the present is constantly moving forward into the future. when locke met richard the first time by the plane, it was after one of locke’s flashes. This flash sent him into the future to meet richard. (we assume that all flashes went back in time, but faraday told us they could go either way)when the later episode came and locke told richard where to meet him, that was the present. when locke was in the bushes with ben watching himself talk to richard, that was the present! the injured locke by the plane was from the past that flashed into “his future” that was really our present in that episode. if you dont follow let me know
