  1. I feel your frustration. Just when we think we have an idea where the show is headed, just when we think we’re about to get some answers they throw another curveball and we’re left back at square one with the wild guesses again.

That’s why I love this show.

  2. We do see completely eye to eye on one issue though. Jack’s ridiculous plan and everyone agreeing to go along with it.

I don’t think I ever said ‘f*cktards’ as many times in one 185 minute sitting.

  3. well if they dont put it all in some logical context we;ll see how many will love the show.

lynch is also incoherent, but he puts across what he wants to say and you get it!

it gives me the impression that hey are twisting things for the sake of saying that we got a show with plot twists not that they necessarily mean them

they have managed to make us look at the show just for the fact that we have invested 5 years watching it.

  4. I agree with you entirely. The thing I love about lost and this site was the fact that people had a chance to suggest, theorize on what was to come, it has always been difficult but everyone always seemed to be coming form more or less the same angle, new information provided us with more clues. I feel now the previous storylines seem quite irrelevent. AES said great stories don’t give everything away, however they certainly do start to peel back lairs on the onion to entice the reader in. Lost is simply leading the viewer up the gardne path and completely misdirecting everyone which is the main reason many of the viewers left after the second season. Many of the questions from that season are still pertinent today however now have no more, or very little relevance due to the fact that bigger issues have arrived. Many times we have been promised answers and are given very little other than questions, and as for people saying that certain things are open to interpretation. To me that sounds like a get out. we could be bothered so write your own ideas. I hope I am wrong, believe me!!! But i thought his was going to be a clear insightful and well planned Tv show it is now looking more and more contrived.

  5. I don’t feel robbed, because I’ve gotten to watch 5 seasons worth of what I consider to be good television, in fact, some of the best the networks have to offer.
    I will say this though…
Somewhere in the theories section, a fan mentions the fact that Jacob and the as yet unnamed character were representations of “God” and “The Devil”…basically just “effing off” with the other players.
Well, I for one, see a correlation between this theory and what the writers/producers/directors are doing with US…the viewers.
If you look at it objectively…it’s sort of their job.
Without the twists, turns, seemingly unexplainable or downright hokey phenomena and everything else…this show would not be what it is. And it certainly wouldn’t have such a dedicated legion of watchers.
I say…ride the wave or get off the board…but don’t gripe at the ocean for being wet. 😉

  6. Sorry, this is a terribly unpredictable show. But thats what I love about it. Its GREAT for discussion of ideas and theories. If you want a predictable show, go watch COPS.

  7. HAHAHA… You just pointed out the simple reasons I think it’s the BEST SHOW EVER! It’s made to be ambiguous and up for interpretation. In the end we will get an explanation, until then just deal. You all just sound like a bunch of kid’s up set about not being able to open their christmas gifts on christmas eve!

If they didn’t know exactly what the island is they wouldn’t be able to write the show, and once we (the viewer) find out what the island truly is we will then have no trouble (ok maybe not no trouble) understanding the show. The end explanation wont make everyone happy, but it will fit and thats all that matters.

To me, it does not matter how this show explains itself in the end. It has entertained me for 3 years now and will countinue to for over another year, and for that I am greatful. I wish everyone else was, afterall it’s just a tv show, and for that it’s a damn good one!

  8. All year long time travel and what are the consequences of it dominated the discussion. People really thought the answers to many of the questions lay there. If the new direction of Lost somehow makes Time Travel, Desmond, Widmore, Ben Linus, Dharma, and so forth irrelevant then that really is sad. I sort of knew Lost was heading towards a war of good vs. evil, but I didn’t know that those two forces would just now be introduced in full. Does Widmore vs. Linus mean nothing now? Does Christian Shepard really mean nothing now? I just get a feeling now that many of the mysteries of the show will either not be answered or Darlton will just say “That was never really important”. Would it really surprise anyone now if they said that about the Walt, or Aaron storylines?

  9. wrong it hasnt entertained you …it has kept you thirsty and eager to find out what the hell is going on. that is curiocity not entertainment.

i agree with gk that the issues of past seasons have not been resolved not even touched….and characters within the show who used be used to explain die before explaining anything opening new windows and new directions all the time….

oh so now juliet caused the incident right? let me ask you…you think that the writers had thought of this when they were making season 2 the chang videos about the incident? im positive that whent hey were making season 2 dharma hatch clips with chang they had no idea they would even introduce the juliet character…..3 seasons later juliet is the character that caused the incident talked about in season 2.

its just a tv show…i agree…but a show..in fact any sort of presentation must have a solid base and expand from there. in lost there is no solid base…every season the solids change..but they dont change because they have something in their minds…they change cause they dont know how else to continue it……

haha there is no constant…only variables….

and in an environmentof variables you can practically do or present whatver you want and then say “well thats where i was heading you know” b*llocks to that i say

  10. If the twists and turns that the show has taken lately do turn out to be there just for the sake of having twists then I will join you in the ranks of the outraged but we still have a season to go.

I don’t expect all the answers to be given away… I think all the really big questions should be answered but the meaning behind things should be left up to us to decide. But in the end they’d better have a reason for doing what they did. I hope the last couple episodes with Jack acting like a complete moron and everyone following him just because he’s Jack wasn’t just thrown in there so we couldn’t figure out what was going on. If you’re going to mislead me, fine, but don’t do it by just having the characters actions make no sense. I hope it doesn’t go that way though and I don’t think it will. It’s not over yet.

  11. ytoure right its not over yet but the way theyve made it now…every minute of season 7 must give answers.

they should explain to us for example why they were insisting in fate/synchronicity in first season only to totally debunk it now with jacobs immortal line to ben : you have a choice …rah rah rah

for 5 years they have been giving out the notion that teh smokie is the one who makes teh judgment…and manifests itself into a person that said character knows (for eko it was his brother forinstance for ben it was alex) ..only to find out tha the smokie could in fact be th eother guy taking these forms to make the losties continue being bad to serve his purpose of killing jacob…..

  12. That could still easily fit. We know there are rules and we know that they apply to not just Charles and Ben but also to Jacob and the Decepticon. They’re supposed to apply to other people as well, like Penny and Alex. Ben made a mistake when he went to kill Penny himself. He can’t do that. Alex being killed though, it turns out, is the first time we’ve seen the “loophole” exploited, even though we didn’t know it at the time.

  13. yes ok i can agree with you. but only because this new “loophole” thing appeared with jacob and the other guy.

however somethign like that would nice if there were two parties involved. the famous good and the evil. who is bad who is good? and lol..in this show we have met about 6 or 7 different sections/groups the losties the, the new losties, the dharma the hostiles, the ex dharma turned hostiles, the black rock people also? the natives the widmores the penelopes and the eloises….

if lost turns out to be a slightly more intellectual disney tale of good vs evil then i will be shocked and quite embarassed that i watched it. ill be even more ashamed for daring to use the words “david lynch” in any sort of comparison with this show

  14. i feel like a great deal was planned, but the whole kahana thing was added to lengthen it. leaving the island and coming back didnt seem necessary. but i feel like they planned someone with jacob. i mean the show is all about duality, black and white, opposing forces. i doubt they thought there would be a single island leader without controversy. there is a really good NPR article about lost, and its difficulty to follow. you should read it

  15. I hope everyone is right and things plan out fine. For a long time I thought this could have been one of the best thought out tv shows. Now I begin to question this. Think of the main questions arising from each season. Season 1 was the numbers and monster. Still awaiting anzers. Season 2 the others and dharma? Still awaiting answers. Season3 more others. Season 4 Jacob a d widmore. Season 5 statues a d Egypt a d jack a friend. I missed out all minor detailsike walt. The islands control over people.loads more. Aes doesn’t think we should hAvve a. List explaining the answers in order to get them in the next 15 hours we may need one. Please no. I hope there are some genius reveals

  16. lostitude who has written the not gods theory is the only one i can accept.

however even so it makes parts of all seasons totally irrelevant and just added to fill up time and make money. whioch tells me that they could have finished it sooner, thus the milking the cow dry accusations they faced in the past were 100% right, suggesting that they indeed decided to [put some extra nonsensical things just to stir the sh*t.

im still outraged , theyve taken us for a ride…they could have explained it all sooner…

  17. I do too in a sense, but maybe it’s because I just don’t get it! I never liked the “Jacob” story line; honestly i thought that it would all be revealed as a hoax “Wizard of Oz” type deal that was just a way for Ben (or whomever is the leader) to control a bunch of people. I have no interest in bible stories dominating LOST. On the other hand, i’m fine with exploring the idea of “destiny vs free choice”, but i think they are “cheating” that notion with the “jacob touchy-feely” angle. I like the fact that just becasue someone keeps telling you “this is destiny” or “what happened happened” doesn’t mean its really true!
I’m still confused on the “time loop” idea and what was the point of the Losties being in the 70s?

  18. cockblock!

pipe down! i hope you take your life as seriously as how angry you are at a tv show that is based on the boundaries of mystery, therefore, answers come at the end,and lo and behold, were not at the end yet!

  20. cocoblocko, I hear where you’re coming from and I understand your frustration. But, this isn’t your typical TV show, and judging by the sounds of the levels of predictability you’re expecting in television shows, I’d hate to watch what you do. This show is a great change from what’s out there – it’s a chance for the audience to use their minds and their imaginations rather than being spoon-fed much of the crap that’s currently on TV. But if that’s not your cup of tea.. well.. you know where the remote is.
