Juliet’s alive, and the bomb didn’t go off…
I have a few observations from the season finale…
When Juliet fell, and then woke up, I thought, ‘there is no way she could have survived that.’ But then… moments earlier we saw Locke survive the fall from the hospital in a flashback; Jacob seemed to revive him. My theory is that Jacob revived Juliet at the bottom of the well, making sure she recieved the ‘touch.’
I don’t believe the bomb was detonated. When Jacob was ‘dying’, and said, ‘they’re coming..’ he was referring to the people he had touched, who, in their own present, were stuck in 77. In his dying moments, he created a flash which will bring those who were touched back to his and Richard’s (and Sun and Ben’s) present.

nice idea!
i was thinking about juliette, and when we see a small flash back, where she runs away from her parents whom are talking about seperation. i suppose that was to do with her thoughts on the subarine with sawyer and kate.
but, i was thinking, when she ran out the house, and it fades back to the sub. what happens if she went out there and met jacob who said or did something to her that would mean she could survive that fall as you say!
again! good idea.
x
Jenni_h, I also like the idea that maybe Juliette somehow is still alive.
Another way of explaining ‘the incident’, might be in how we see ‘the flash’, similar to when Desmond turned the fail-safe.
Maybe ‘the losties’ were sent back to present time.
Just a thought!
i love this! i think if they were flashed to the present and everything after the incident happened as it did (they seal up the hatch and put in the numbers, Radzinky kills himself, etc) that would make perfect sense because then everyone would be in the same time in season 6. The Jacob touch was so that he could bring them all to him when he needed them (to bad Locke is dead)
only problem I have with this is that we didnt see Jacob touch Juliet : (
And Desmond is a crazy factor I can’t even begin to consider. But i really don’t know how he plays in because he was on the island before they were and he is yet to come back
could the corpses in the cave be henry gail and his wife, please, please, please!…
I just can’t help but feel that the implosion(?) that destroyed the hatch (via Desmond) had nothing to do with a fission bomb. The Swan station itself was not at all that far underground; Desmond looks up the hatch and sees Locke (albeit vaguely) and the outside world can be accessed very quickly. A nuclear explosion, no matter how small in magnitude, simply couldn’t leave anyone near it alive. Locke and Eko were getting away, but weren’t very far and Charlie was only just ahead. Of course what happened to Desmond is an exception due to…. something. Now, I understand that it’s just a show and certain licenses are taken, but I highly doubt that the writers would choose to ignore the intense radiation and fire that would result from the aforementioned blast. There just seems to be too much evidence against a nuclear detonation. Now, we have much less information regarding the aftermath of the Incident. That leads me to believe that if Jughead ever actually blew, it was in 1977.
I too am desperate for Juliet to still be alive! I think you theory makes a lot of sense, because if they were going to kill her they would make it clear she was dead, i mean they’ve left a lot of suspicion surrounding her so it seems more in keeping with lost for her to somehow be alive..
And the flashback with Juliet just seems out of keeping with the others, so maybe that is going to be continued on….this may be a bit of a stab…but did we see juliets father in the flasback??
Cool idea about Rose & Benard as the “Adam & Eve” found in the cave early in the series.
Nice catch!
I don’t think Jacob’s dying, either. Think it was a set-up (or perhaps a Set-up, if some theories on which Egyptian god he and MIB/Bob/Rival are).
Not to be a Debbie Downer or anything but… someone told me on another Lost theories website that the producers and what not (during a podcast) confirmed that the bomb exploded at the end of the episode. I don’t know for certain if this is true or not, so I might check it later.
cookiesgalore, The last Podcast from the writers was after Episode 15, prior to the finale, so it’s unlikely they would have given away the ending prior to the episode airing.
They stated that they were going into radio silence until Comic-Con, and would not be commenting on the finale until that time.
I don’t follow the podcasts at all. I’m just passing on something somebody told me. I hoped it wasn’t true but if the podcast was before the season finale then you’re probably right. Thanks for clarifying.
I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Juliet is definitely dead. How do I know? Because Elizabeth Mitchell is starring in the new show “V”. I love Juliet, but I think she was killed for the same reason the Mr. Echo was killed… the actor left the show.
I heard about V… On a recent interview she said that she had already worked simultaneously on V and Lost Season 5. (V is currently only a pilot.) Aaand, I read today that Elizabeth Mitchell has been cast for season 6 of Lost (though admittedly it is unknown whether this will be as a dead or alive character!) Basically, I don’t think her casting in V is relevant in the ‘dead or alive’ debate. Matthew Fox (Jack) has starred in movies alongside his lost role, remember. I still have a lot of hope for Juliet, anyway!
Agree that the producers have not commented on whether the bomb exploded… would negate the whole point of the cliff hanger!
ImperiousRegina – we did see Juliet’s father, wasn’t Jacob. But her flashback had to be different because hers had to explain the love storyline which isn’t necessarily relevant to the main jacob/nemesis one. But I still think he ‘touched her’ at the bottom of the well… (and this obv couldn’t have been shown in flashback form) she awoke exactly how Locke did when Jacob touched him.
Josh CGS – we didn’t see him touch Juliet… but we didn’t see him touch Locke the first time around either.
Desmond baffles me – I just cant see how him and Penny will fit into the final season!
Thanks for all the comments! Keep them coming 🙂
“But I still think he
I can see how the nemesis (in the form of smokey) would want to revive her so she could detonate the nuke, killing all the people Jacob had previously touched….
But that wouldn’t make for a good 6th season cast-wise!
So, I’d either say it wasn’t the nemesis who revived her, or it was, but his plan failed, and the bomb wasn’t detonated before Jacob brings them back to the present. That would imply Juliet then dying alone and being cemented though… which I simply cannot deal with!
I’m sticking with Jacob reviving her, and her being brought into the present with Sawyer, Sayid et al 🙂
Best theory ive seen in a while, liked the touch about the bomb being put into the hatchs fail safe aswel.
