Lost guys didn’t cause the incident.

The lost guys from the plane did not cause the incident. It’s impossible due to the laws of time and space. I’ll explain.

Which ever time theory you believe in, string, or ouroboros time theories. It is a paradox which could not have happened. I will explain why it’s not possible in either case.

String Theory. Time is a line from point A, beginning of time, to point B, the end of time.

By going back in time via string theory anything you do now creates a new alternate string that branches off and goes in a parallel direction (Or time moving forward) with the original time string (reality). In fact just the very act of going back in time without doing anything, your very presence there now creates an alternate timeline or reality. Never to intersect again with the original reality.
(Think Back to the Future 2).

Reason it’s not possible. Something would have needed to cause the plane in the first place to crash, therefore meaning that the “incident” already happened with out the Lost people intervening in the 70’s . Also we know the incident happens naturally from just the drilling into a pocket of unstable energy, not from the nuclear bomb. Remember, we’re given this clue by everything being magnetized before the bomb went off.

Now for why it wouldn’t work in an Ouroboros time theory. Time in this theory is like a record player. We know this is the time theory that LOST is based on because we are given many clues to this.

Clue 1, We have several episodes where a record starts at the beginning of a show. (Think Foreshadowing)
Clue 2, In Danial Faraday’s notes, it has a picture diagram of the Ouroboros on one of the pages.
Clue 3, The quote “The universe always finds a way to correct itself” referred by Eloise to Desmond when he would try and purchase the ring and she said your not supposed to. And later when he tried to save charlies life over and over again, when he knows he’s supposed to ultimately die.

Now with Ouroboros, its make up implies that there is a destiny. Events have already happened. String theory does not because it can branch out, and give you the choice to change things but create an alternate reality. But Ouroboros is as a record, and as Faraday states moving back in time just puts you onto a different song. Events have already played out, there is a destiny. Find a way to travel through time, and any changes you make eventually time corrects them. The changes made are very small, and not powerful enough to change the rest of the songs on the record or events on time.

Also remember the picture of them in the 70’s did not show up in the lodge until after they went back in time.

Therefore, the LOST plane members did not cause the incident.
