Why hasn’t anybody mentioned ‘Bob’ before? Surely Richard would know about him, maybe even Widmore, Eloise, Ben etc

Maybe Jacob never told them.
Exactly.. One important thing to remember is that: we actually don’t know for certain that Jacob really is a “Good Guy” For all we know he could be Satan. I found it strange that Jacob was still alive n kicking, chillin under the statue this whole time. We know he touched/integrated certain people before(and after their first crash: Hurley) and yet he has done nothing(that we’ve seen so far) to really help them.. In any way really, pre or post Island. Personally, I hold him responsible for Nadia’s death, I think he took the life of Her’s, rather than saving Sayid’s.
