No nanobots on Lost. I have to admit that “Prey” immediately came to mind when I first saw the smoke monster. It has been confirmed, however, that it’s not a swarm of them. It is also quite evident from the S5 finale what the monster really is.
Sorry to be the one to debunk it, but the producers specifically said that the smoke monster were not nanobots.
Many people have tried to answer the big question on what is smokey, the producers gathered all these answers provided to them, and elected the best answer they thought was the “coolest”. Not neccesarily the most acurate, nither the worst. Concordantly to this, they particulary replied to the the people with this theories on smokey, that it was not nanobots.
Oh, I didn’t know about the producers already turning down this theory. Thanks! Sorry about that. In a way, I’m kinda glad. If this had been the case it would open up way too many more questions.
