Leaders can’t kill each other

locke couldn’t shoot jack when he was on the sat phone…
jack put the gun to locke’s head and pulled the trigger-nothing
ben can’t kill widmore; widmore can’t kill ben-he’s had his chances
our mystery guy can not kill jacob directly-otherwise, why manipulate ben?
am concluding the reverse is also true in that jacob cannot kill this mystery
man…why are ben/widmore/locke/jack exempt from death and killing
each other? Please share your thoughts and opinions..

I LOVE this show! my favorite characters-in no particular order: Hurley; Locke; Sayid; and of course, Vincent-(if he doesn't make it to the end-there will be anarchy!) I am soooo over: Jack-'does this guy ever NOT cry?' Shepherd (so annoying)...Kate 'let me leave a trail of destruction if i don't get my way' Austen; 'i'm as smart and einstein' Radzinsky (obviously not smart enough to keep your brains OFF of the ceiling); Anna 'big chip on my shoulder' Lucia (see ya!)

  1. i am not sure i agree about jack and locke,

Locke simply has a problem killing anyone other than Naomi, even his father he needed sawyer to do, and

I think Jack has no problem with killing locke, the weapon is simply not loaded.

But, i totally agree that for some reason Ben and whidmore, and jacob and mib cannot kill each other… due to the rules which we are not clear on. I still am not sure whether or not Whidmore, or Ben’ actions kill his daughter… in fact I think it is her fault in a way, she was dead anyways and Ben warned her, but she stood up and said I’m ben’s daughter. Ben might have saved her, though i doubt the commando would have held his word. We do know Ben is pretty mad at whidmore about ‘changing the rules’

so my only guess is, the consequences of breaking those rules. they must be pretty nasty. Or maybe they are like UN sanctions… The superpowers ignore them and expect the rest of the world to pay heed, lol.

  2. what if they cannot kill each other because they are already dead? LOL! just throwing some ideas out there, not very good ones i suppose.

  3. I thought about another thing last night.

Remember when Ben leaves the island and he goes to see whidmore because he is mad he changed the rules? He walks into his bedroom and asks Whidmore since when did you start sleeping with a bottle of bourbon (or whatever) by the bed? And Whidmore says ‘since the nightmares began’

I wonder if these nightmares are the consequences for breaking the rules.
