the numbers are still important?
Bear with me on this one cause im writing it while thinking it.
the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 are part of the Valenzetti equation which basically states that these numbers predict when humankind will end. On the island, the Dharma people were carrying out experiments to find ways to alter these numbers, hence prolonging the life of humankind.
well at the start of the season 5 finale when jacob and MIB are talking, MIB says something like ‘they come, they fight, they destroy’ and Jacob says something like ‘everything else is progress.
well what if it isn’t the dharma people (directly)
I_Am_Jacob, I think it is more likely that Jacob is conducting the ‘real’ experiment with human nature. We, as viewers are not aware of what that experiment consists of, at present.
That is the main story of Lost, and the characters involved and how they play into the greater plan of this human experiment.
I am not so sure about Jacob and Fake Locke’s motives being so easily defined. I think we have to delve very deep, in order to understand what their objectives might be.
