time travel/ locke
Remember the second plane crash in which some of the people on the plane flashed to the 70’s and some didn’t? So there is no reason why everyone else can’t travel through time as well. I think that the remaining people on the plane after the flash (Sun, Ben, Locke, the pilot, etc.) traveled through time too. As the pilot and the man sitting next to him before the second crash tried to get a radio signal, all they could hear was 4 8 15 16 23 42 being said over and over again, just like Danielle said happened to her when she tried picking up a signal. However, she also said that she changed the transmission from the numbers being repeated to her calls for help around ’89. So if she changed the transmission around ’89, and when the plane crashed the second time they heard the numbers, that must mean that they are not in present day, but around, or before the transmission was changed (the 80’s).
I also want to bring up Locke. As you can see, Locke knows the island very well for never being on it before. There are two theories on this that I think could both make sense. One is that Locke is not himself, but the mysterious man that Jacob was talking to in the beginning of the incident. This can be proven because in the beginning of this episode, the mysterious man (TMM) said “One of these days, I will find my loop hole,” meaning he thinks that he will someday find a way to kill Jacob. And right before Ben was about to kill Jacob, Jacob says to Locke “You found your loop hole.” Coinsidence?? Also, another way to support this theory is that when Ben thought that he needed to be judged by the “smoke monster,” the smoke (or whatever it is) made an illusion of Alex, Ben’s adopted, dead daughter. She told Ben to do exactly what Locke told him to. And Locke told Ben to kill Jacob. This would be a way for TMM to “find his loop hole.” I am not sure whether TMM is the smoke monster or what. Another reason for Locke’s knowing of the island is that (this is pretty hard to explain) he has a sense, or some part of him still realizes that he has been on the island in the past, therefore making him able to know the island etc. Also, this may seem pretty crazy, but if you recall the time when Richard visits a five year old John Locke to see if John is “special”, Richard notices a drawing that John drew of the smoke monster killing someone. So if my theory is correct, it is possible that in the future Locke is young (I have no idea how-maybe the bomb…) Because it would make sense that John knew about the smoke monster from being on the island in the past- just not experiecing it physically himself.

I dont disagree that they time traveled. Just to when. I dont think it would of been anywhere near the 80’s or even back in time simply because of Richard and the others. They don’t experience time travel like the passengers do. Maybe they went months or days through time into the future or past, but certainly not years.
Yeah to debunk the whole travelling to the 80’s idea. The Dharma Initiative should still have been around, so the barracks wouldn’t have been abandoned. There are other things that prove that they didn’t go back to the 80’s although the idea that they did do some time travelling of their own is still quite possible
Richard said it had been 3 years since he saw locke. I think the time is around 2007.
Maybe when Danielle turned off her transmission at the end of season 3, the numbers started transmitting again.

The following was explained as to how the ’06’ were transported when Ajira #316 crash-landed on ‘the island’.
Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse revealed in this recap that the reason that some survivors were transported to 1977 and others remained in the present was because they were unable to exactly replicate the conditions of Flight 815 aboard Flight 316. Minor differences caused the survivors to successfully crash on the Island, but not exactly as they had planned.

A possible explanation for the pilots hearing the numbers just before the crash is that the whole plane did fly through 1977 when just the few were flashed down to the island, then continued and crashed on Hydra Island in 2007. The rest of the Ajira passengers did travel back in time but only to 2007 from 2008.
I never noticed that the numbers were heard during this crash. This is major, thanks to sawyerlover for pointing this. However as the others say, there’s lots of evidence that the new losties are not in the past. I remember in one of the 2 first seasons that Hurley and someone else are listening to a broken radio and they hear a song and the other person says ‘It might come from another place’ and Hurley says : ‘Or from another time… Just kidding man’. It is possible that radio emissions are travelling through time when emitted around the island.

Hey you commented me on my theory about charlie and to re-argue my point, your video you told me to watch proves me correct again. it has to be beyone 2004 because the “runway” that the others were building(the one juliette said was for the aliens) was done. Time doesn’t run in reverse on the island.
