Light vs. Dark
In one of the first few episodes, Locke talks to Walt about the game of backgammon. He says how the game is very ancient, even before the time that Christ was born. Then he goes on about the two sides in backgammon, the light vs. dark. It becomes clear to me that, no, Locke is not talking about just the game, but perhaps something else as well. Recall when we saw Jacob and MIB talking on the beach. Notice that Jacob was in white and MIB was in black. This could possibly be a coinsidence, but it is something that no person can ignore. And when Claire had that dream about the blood in the crib, just before she was taken by Ethan, you saw Locke playing backgammon with one eye dark, and one light. I’m not so sure what this all means. Maybe that one always has a good and bad side to them, or it is symbolizm of MIB and jacob.

i agree sawyerlover62, locke was definately talking about more than bacskgammon and there has been a lot of light and dark comming up on the show and different sides for example locke and jack. from the begging they have had a lot of dissagrements. like locke said one is a man of science and the other man of faith.
as for the two sides and what the black and white could be, i dont know? could be a symbolism of jacob and mib like you have said?
i cant wait to find out, thats for sure! roll on season 6 thats what i say and also bring back driveshaft, haha. eko rocks
I like the idea that everyone has a good and bad side in them. Everyone in the show is constantly trying to convice people that they are the “good side”. In seasons one and two the Others seem like the bad people, but then later we see them as the good people and charles whidmore’s people as the bad people. Charles Whidmore’s people think Ben Linus is evil and Ben Linus’s people think Charles whidmore is evil. So who is right? Everyone has a different point of veiw, so no one is really “evil”.
