The famous FlashForward lost spoiler
For those of us who missed it during the downtime of theoriesonlost.com, here is the famous FlashForward reference to Lost :
http://scifiwire.com/2009/09/did-flash-forward-just-gi.php
There is basically a Oceanic Airlines ad on the wall and it says : ‘Perfect Safety Record’. Now FlashForward happens in 2009. That means in 2009 there has been no plane crash for Oceanic Airlines. What do you think about this ?
Jj23, hardly to be considered a spoiler when you consider that Daniel Faraday told Jack that if they went ahead with ‘the incident’, that #815 would never have crashed on ‘the island’ and their plane would land safely in LA.
Therefore, it’s a logical conclusion to draw. However, that being said, I believe that it won’t be quite as simplistic in nature as Faraday initially thought it might be.
Thanks for bringing this up!
SEEN THAT MYSELF – JUST THE WRITERS AND JJ HAVING FUN WITH US BEFORE SERIES 6 BEGINS. I’D BE REALLY DISAPPOINTED MIND IF THEY COP OUT AND THE OPENING SCENE IS FLIGHT 815 LANDING AT LAX. AFTER 6 YEARS THEY SHOW US WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED WITH BE A DIRTY TRICK TO PULL. I COULDN’T HANDLE A LONG DRAWN VERSION OF DONNIE DARKO – JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE.
@dabiatchishere :
I disagree. This was not clear. Many people thought that Faraday was completely crazy to think that variables could influence the future, LEMURIA’s comment just proves that. I think it was pretty much a 50-50 situation; I didn’t believe in the possibility of them resetting the whole Lost story for sure it was a possibility but I had not ruled out other possibilities.
Lemuria : I disagree. They can make a pretty crazy plot line for season 6 if they reset everything and get to LAX. Just imagine if not everybody is included in the reset. Imagine if those losties who are now living their normal lives without being conscious of all that happened start getting contacted by the others who were not included in the reset. Lots of things can be interesting.
Jj23, I don’t think most people thought Faraday was crazy, only that they were unsure where his suggestion might lead.
Some viewers fully subscribed to the notion of the Variables and Daniel’s words. Even though at the time it seemed like it might be an impossible task for the writers to achieve.
Most people thought if this were to come true, it would negate everything that happened with ‘the losties’ and #815 and found it hard to wrap their minds around. However, in science fiction there is always a way to explain things in logical fashion.
Its an easter egg reference.
Dark humour
The two shows are unrelated, to my knowledge, so I’m skeptical as to why Flashforward propaganda would reflect the future of Lost
