Alpert is Prometheus
Written 4th February
What if Richard Alpert is the god prometheus that was punished for helping humans discover fire. His punishment was he was chained to a boulder and had to push it up a moutain for all eternity. Maybe Jacob saved alpert from the chains and that is why alpert is no longer chained up. Alpert always helps the others on the island and he doesnt age, so maybe he is prometheus.
Ahhh yes! I love this idea – I had actually thought about that after I saw the premiere episode. Alpert doesn’t age, making him immortal. He also seems to care about his people; so, perhaps when Richard came to the island, he discovered its amazing properties and shared them with mankind. But by doing this he was punished (by the Man in Black?) and Jacob freed him?
or maybe he came on the black rock as a slave…..
